I have to share this....
I picked my oldest son Jess (12) up from camp this morning.. he had an awesome time over the past week!! :wari:
One of the activities he got to do, was woodwork.. he made a cheese board.. it's made from Matai.. & it's beautiful.. & he decorated it with poker work..
the inscriptions says..
To you mum
you faced your fear
you were not scared
you kept on fighting
when times were rough
but through all that
someone always loved you
your son
I love you!!
Jesse
oh my god.. did I cry.. right there in the middle of the dining hall where he met me.. :crybaby::crybaby:
then the leader came over.. & she cried too.. apparently ALL the staff who read it since Jess made it.. had cried.. :crybaby::crybaby: (even the blokes!!!)
Yeah I know.. I'm a ferkin softcock ok.. I admidt it!! :innocent:

They say childern reflect a little of the way they are brought up and a little of their parents are in their personalities. sounds like you've been a fantastic mother and your son wanted you to know and looks like he loves you very much
Take care Jen and have a Wicked weekend and stay safe

Cool Jen, that's so touching, thanks for sharing.
Now: my son 13 has just come home from a scout camp and what do I get?? My expensive high-loft down sleeping bag sodding wet. :Pokey:
Ah well, he's a great boy and I love him completely. He camped in snow, tramped for miles, mountain-biked, rowed across a lake, and had a fine time. I'm so glad.

That's beautiful :sunny: what a boy and clearly WHAT A MUM!
They have such power to reduce us to tears eh. My 4 year old told me last night to stop worrying about him that he will be ok...not sure he really understands this or WHY I am worried about him but there was something curious about his timing and he was so happy and cute it made me cry too/

Thanks everyone.. :grouphug:
I'm still quite stunned by it.. the board is sitting right in front of me, propped up against the puter screen.. so I read it often.. & it still makes me blubber..

Yeah.. that's what has stunned me the most I think.. he's only 12!! & is a quiet, gentle kid.. so I'm thinking like.. WHERE did that COME from!!?? I guess even as parents we don't really know what goes on in their minds. I know he's growing in to a gorgeous young man.. & I am so proud of him for who he is!

Have you loved him so much that no girl will be good enough for him? :p
I could be accused of being a computer nerd and book worm (look at my post count on this mainly written forum for example).
I won't go any further than that. I'm sure he'll be fine :D
