Winter is A.OK up here in Auckland, been riding almost everyday, getting absolutely soaking wet in the process, due to being lazy and not putting on my 1piece rain suit. But that's all part of the fun :D

It's been pretty mild this year.

I like Winter. I'd prefer it a bit colder.

This is my first Winter on a Bike, and I haven't had any problems at all, a little wetter than usual, but I just keep on trucking through it.

Maybe a concrete pill is required?

Meh, got to work the weekend anyway so don't give a fat rats arse.

But yeah, the winter can bugger off any time it wants.

(Still, should we get a summer it makes us appreciate it all the more)

Not bad... 6 post before someone told me to HTFU...

Naa dont wanna...

why spent an hour putting on thermals, jerseys, leathers, gloves and all that shit to go sliding around the roads...

Have a few more winters on bikes then see if you still fell the same way ah

4am??? Mate even I would have to question the sanity in that lol. I take full advantage of the nice days during the week when the poor 9 - 5rs are all stuck in their offices staring out the window

I've spotted your problem. Switch to TV1 weather. Karen has bigger tits - makes all the difference to the weather.

Winter was dirt riding time in my days living in Chch. Rain and mud didn't matter...but yeah, it sure was cold down there.

Wgtn is a better all year climate for riding. Milder winters and the last couple of summers have been good. In fact too hot n'dry.

Yeah - why is that? Seems you cant dislike something that someone else likes without being told you need a dose of cement...?

I started riding at the start of this winter! So winter riding is all I know at the moment ha ha

I'm getting a bit tired of loosing the back end of the cage in the wet. No traction control makes for fun times in the wet so it will be good to see some dry roads & some traction.

No problem loosing traction on the GN . Getting a heap of wet weather riding in although riding in hail aint much fun.

Still can't get enough of riding a motorcycle, even on the crusty old GN.

aint all that bad if you got good tyres.

There hasn't been a day that I haven't been riding so far this winter.

Maybe you need to moove to the City of Snails - its warmer up here :niceone:

Otherwise see attached pic...

The 'warmer' doesn't compensate for the ten shades of hell the rest of life up there seems to be....:pinch:

All part of lifes rich tapestry.

Makes no difference to a biker.

Good thing about this weather is it enables one to determine how many bikers there are out there, relative to how many just play on nice fine days.

And, come rain hail, sleet, snow or arctic cold, there's one model of bike that will ALWAYS still be out on the roads, battling through the blizzard. The GN250s. Big props to them.

the colder weather doesn't bother me, but the annoying trend of it being fine during the week and then having it turn to crap just in time for the weekend is somewhat frustrating.

Noted.. thanks MD.. I shall do some research on this possible solution :corn:

Winter was dirt riding time in my days living in Chch. Rain and mud didn't matter...

Now THAT`S the way to go, a dirt bike or motard for sliding around on in the rain.
Leave the sportbike in the nice dry garage and get out on the other!
Might have to get me an XR400 or something to get my winter fix...

There is a lot of merit with that idea.. :wait: might have to research that too

It has been a rather pleasant winter. Winter keeps the dickhead noob-filterer's off of the roads, so that improves things immensely.:woohoo:

You are confusing "Latte Land" with Wellytown. At least we don't have all the bloody politicians ruining the place.

I count 12 winters so far (with a big break in the middle without a bike). I've hardly missed a day so far at any time of year. And right now we're even in the process of selling the car. Can't say I LOVE the rain but a bike beats a car in any weather. Actually, I've been more likely to substitute car for bike in the hot weather - nearly passed out a couple of times from heat exhaustion.

Don't worry the Winter is fading now...
These days the sun rises around 7:30am.... It's nearly the time to wind our clocks.... YES! :first:

haha, yea I love having an odd job. I'm a postman, so its 7am till whenever I finish, leaving me free to do what I want.

once you get used to the rain its just as much fun.

Just got back from Lost Angeles. It was in the mid 30's. The air was so thick, you could feel it as you inhaled every breath of the pollution filled air. Went up to Lake Tahoe on the border of California and Nevada. There are forest fires raging and there was soot and ash falling all the time.
I like the warmth, but I'll take this clean air anytime.
