I am interested to know how people think these two Honda 250s compare?

hXc is passionate about this.

Similarities:

Honda
250cc
v Twin

Differences

Spada - Alloy frame, VTR Steel Trellis
Spada - 6 gears, VTR 5 gears
Spada - 40hp, VTR 32hp
Spada - Skinny wheels, VTR - fatter rear wheel
Spada - 1988-1989, VTR - 1998-2008

The Spada is a faster bike but then again it's still a 250. the VTR Build quality is nice and most Spadas I've seen are a bit scruffy (mainly due to age though). Spadas need their cam chains changed due to age and mileage but the VTRs are a bit newer so maybe not so much maintenence.

Sure? Spada front = 100/80x17. Rear = 140/70x17. Besides bigger size isn't an indication of better grip/handling.
Looks etc are always in the beholders eye. For superior performance, the Spada beats the VTR hands down.

Spada would be my choice based on riding one. I like the way they look too.
If age, mileage & condition are an issue the newer machine may be the better choice but it is a Honda and if serviced half well a Spada is bound to be a reliable and better Grin making friend. :)
