After Market Disc Brakes... Ebay

Hey guys and gals,

I'm having a bad time at the moment, seems that I'll have to get new discs for the MC22 that I'm fixing up, and they're not cheap!

I have been quoted $339 from two different stores (Boyd Honda, Cycletreads). That's a price PER DISC :weep:

So I went browsing over the internet and found these:

It works out to be about $270 NZD including postage for the two. Cheap.

Does anybody have any recommendations/experiences/tips that could help me on my bizzare journy of purchasing expensive pieves of cheap metal?

Ring Malcolm at Econohonda. Do a search for Econohonda and the details will be made clear.

Those ones are cheap and while some get away with an ok pair, others end up with warped disks a couple of weeks later... find out what other models have the same disks, and then use this to search for a set

Hi. yeah I took the gamble & bought a pair of wavey discs for the same reason. Inexpensive & happy with them. Look at my post about it on page three. PS for best results replace the brake pads at the same time..Cheers

Note:Same item of Front Rotor set, Our local workshop have been installed for our customer without problem. Even Race on track also. There needs a Brake system Professional technical skill. If buyer want to D.I.Y, Please made a decision before bid. If there caused any problem. We do not effort the responsible of it. We have oversea customer worked for it also without problem.

I bought a similar set up, cost just over $500 NZ. (65 quid shipping for wheel/brake assy).
Put the discs on your bike, and flog the front wheel to a Fireblade, RC45 or RC30 owner who wants to put decent rubber on the front. Last 17 incher I saw for sale on tardme went for just over $250.

I would not be put off buying from overseas if the sales blurb is not perfect. Not everyone has english as a first, or even second language. And some of those guys are the ones designing and building everything from Hondas to Hyosungs:Pokey:.

Try $750 per disc for a 1000rr..........ouch!!

But I think I'd still go for a known aftermarket brand or OEM rather than risk buying a knockoff that may warp or worse.

Brakes are something ya don't want to have any doubt in.
