Hi All,
manfeild sent the following email today, looks like no testing before the long track round this year:
Hi all
I hope the weekend went well for all involved.
The next round at Manfeild is on the 23rd August as you know. This email is to clarify that there is NO test day scheduled for the 22nd August (the day prior to this meeting) due to booking commitments that Manfeild cannot not avoid.
There will however be testing scheduled for the 15th and the 29th August for those who want to come along. If you know of anyone who is coming to this meet but may not receive this email, please forward this on or let them know.
Apologies for the inconvenience, and thanks for your help and the understanding
Cheers

Damn - our accommodation is already booked so I guess at least Team Teng will be at the track early.

I just heard their is a Jehovas (?) fucking witness religo wank fest on that weekend in Palmy so there is almost zero chance of getting accomodation that weekend to, the Pubs however wont be any fuller so thats a good thing.

Does anyone know if we can practice on the full track on the 15th Aug? As far as I understand round 4 is the long track.
test days are usually short track only. since there are no marshalls or ambo and only 2 guys to keep an eye on everything. however, sometimes if enough bikers ask to run the long track then they sometimes open it up. depends what they feel like and if someelse has booked the back half of the track.
all the test days are online: http://www.manfeild.co.nz/events.asp?filter=3

the word form Tony is that if we can supply volunteers to help marshall the long track they might be able to. If someone wants to rally some troops then contact manfeild and see if you can run the long track...
I did it last year and it worked for us all... but i cant justify testing the week before and the cost to get there so just showing up to race on the day...
the other thing we can look at doing is asking the VMCC about race format and seeing if we can have a format something like: practice 10 mins, qualifying 10 mins and 2 sprint races of 6-8 laps? and 10 for the faster bikes..... or something?? yes it cuts into races... but makes it a little safer as we get used to the track a little more....

Ah shit......bloody typical
Round 4 will be my first time ever to Manfield and the day before test day gets canned...........
Sadly I've had to miss rounds 2 and 3 due to work/family commitments but from now on racing is back to a priority..... even talk of free days off with the new job for practice/track days......:woohoo:
Seems like R3 would have been good for me too, being the rain meister and all...........;)
See ya all there next month.......:scooter:

Mmm 29th won't help much will it...................would be keen on the 15th if it were the full track.

Bugger ! I've never been on the extension, it would be great to get a practise on it first.

Is this for a test day for 22nd? I am able to get that Friday off and was hoping to race the long track on the Sat (23rd) so I would be more than happy to volunteer as a marshall for the Friday if it meant that you guy's got to do a test day.... Anyone else able to help?

I hope your riding is better than your slagging.
Be a bit more organized and you won't miss out on a bed, or better still harden the fek up and pitch a tent or sleep in your van. That way you'll have more cash for tyres/fuel/booze.
And I'm sorry but you may still run into a few witnesses in the pubs... its Mormons who don't drink dumbarse.
And no, I'm not a JW but my family and a lot of friends are, I was bought up as one and I'm bloody happy I was, probably saved me from being locked up or ending up in a wooden box early on! My dad is the only driver in history to gain World Championship rally points in a mini, he did so one week way back in 83, winning Group A in the International Rally of NZ then was out knocking on doors and annoying people the following weekend. He flew to the Isle of Man in 2000 to support me even though he didn't agree with me risking my neck (Its witnesses belief that you shouldn't take unecessary risks with your god-given life) he understood what drives competitive racers as he was one.
I guess what I'm saying as you won't find JW's slagging other people off in a public forum as it wouldn't make them big OR clever.
Andrew Stroud (you may know of him) belongs to another religion and is extremely devout, but I can't recall a NZ motorcyclist giving him shit about it!
On a lighter note, the extension at Manfield makes it an awesome track. Its a shame they don't make it available that often. The only thing to watch is you come off the grippy, coarse banked corners of the old circuit onto dead flat un cambered extension... can be pretty easy to run wide on the exits as you can't see them when you turn in... or to highside from getting hard on the gas way to early on the way out. (that last one I have painful memory of!).

:
I concur. Quasievil, your slagging of Religion is lousy, and really needs alot of practice. Start with Stroudy's.
