Is it under contsruction I take it? Is it closeby in NZ?

Reminds me of some nice touring road way out in the European countryside.

my picks would be the hamilton - raglan road, and the whole of sh25/25a (the waihi to whangamata to whitianga to coromandel to thames rd........) esp the road between tairua and whangamata. the last time i rode that though i had been poisoned and made myself sick.....

No but I do know what -4 degrees feels like when at 160kmph I sneezed and covered the inside of my visor... excellent weather (pissing down with rain) for riding with a visor up for 30 odd kms to next gassy to clean it up.

:D

or a buzzy thing into your helmet on a sunny day with the visor 1/2 open - is it a bee, a wasp or a blowie????

Best times to ride this road is Mondays :niceone: , not public holidays :argh:, and early mornings on the weekend, hoping that you don't get stuck behind a bus/truck as there are few passing opportunities on the way down.

Isn't it ironic? (your attachment)

Down in the naki one of the highest road toll corners (when I was there there were 10 or so white crosses in undera km) is at the crematorium? But to look at it there is no way any one could crash a long sweeper with good visibility through the whole thing. Go figure.

What a spectacle at the top of the hill yesterday arvo - I wish I had my camera....

1 x SV1000k3, 1X GSXR1000K3, 1 x GSXR1000K2, 3x R1 '02, 1 x R1 03, 1 x Ducati Monster 800 03, 1 x Honda VFR 03, 1 x GSXR750K3, 1 x CBR600RR  and the list goes on.....

What a way to while away the after....bike after bike coming over the hill from both directions - all either stopping for a chat or waving as they shoot past.

Short sprints up and down the hill for fun and admiration of each others bike - and not a single police car to be seen......

What a day, only spoilt by the cold roads....

That sounds like a riding group run by a lady called Linda. hers is the Monster. they usually do a sunday morning breakfast run to Masterton way.

Yeah Lynda Blair was there and a bunch of other people - nice monster actually - feels like a 250 in size - hard to believe they show horned a 800cc.

What a bastard though that the bulldozers are moving closer. It won't be long before the curves of Kaitoke Hill are gone forever and then what, will they start attacking the Rimutakas?
