I was in Bunnings yesty - a man can never go into that place and walk out with ONLY the thing(s) he intended to go there for.

Anyway, despite the fact that is was pissing down at the time I bought a 500gram aerosol 'Fire Exit' (http://www.saferaerosols.com/) brand extinguisher for $13 - half price till end August.

These things are becoming mandatory for most summer Adventure rides. I also keep one in the workshop and in in the kitchen, Hell, at this price you could afford to have one in every room of the house.

Get em while they're hot!

Right.... so you haven't still got yours left over from the CCA 4skins?

I spent more effort finding the bloody fire extinguisher than anything else for that ride.

Ok, so I have not seen the one in question, but from my 4WD experience I can say that we found some of the plastic bodied extinguishers proved a tad 'dodgy'.

Trouble was the plastic materials were not adequate to withstand the shake, rattle and roll which ultimately saw a couple go off, as in 'BANG!' when the plastic finally failed. :shit: Note: these were 1.0 and 1.5kg units.

Based on this I'd question if the plastic would be sufficiently robust enough for either an adventure ride or a spill.

Club rules now say Metal body units only, and all extinguishers must be detached and tapped / shaken regularly (monthly, not hourly... ...before you buggers pick me up!) as the contents has been shown to settle into a lump. When this happens all you get is a jet of propellant, with all the powder still sitting in the extinguisher... ...less than usefull!
