I'm trying to organise a day where everyone that can in Auckland at NZHondas get together and we all go and donate blood

If theres much interested from the pepz at NZHondas Ill try to get some other clubs onboard the wagon

Just wanting to know if anyone here would be keen to come along and give blood...

Possibly looking sometime February, in the weekend if at all possible (will have to check with the blood centers about this)

Thanks guys

My blood is not wanted. Something about me coming from UK and being a mad cow!

Sorry but I wont be able to donate blood....
As I will be having major surgery in March / April (if it all goes accordingly to plan)... and I will be arranging to donate my own blood for my operation 3 weeks prior to the op should I actually need blood during the op.....

I hope that you do gets lots who want to donate thou.
Good luck.

I would be able to do the bike run thou.

I spose that even if you're not giving blood, it would be good if you come along anyway?

Good idea man, but I'll pass thanks. We get the opportunity to donate blood at school which is twice a year I think.

I have been meaning to donate sometime soon, but I am not sure I'd really like the ride back after dropping a pint.

I remember the last time I donated I was generally okay, but I had a moment or two of surprisingly absentmindedness.

I was fully expecting to be told that replacement Handlegrips for my Honda would cost in the region of $200 or something. Imagine my surprise when I was told only $16 each. :)

I donate platelets, which takes 1.5-2 hours and usually needs to be done before 2pm, so I'm out.

Do BRONZ still do their twice yearly Blood Runs in Auckland?

I've never been there or left NZ, yet they still don't want my blood. Something to do with my open heart surgery when I was young (or perhaps paranoia?) :confused2

Yep great idea. I can't go as I already give blood with my work however if this trip lands in my next 3 monthly visit in Feb sometime then it could work.....

Hmmm but after thinking about it.....getting 1/2 day off work eating choc biscuits does sound better :)

Me Too. Used to donate regularly, but after 6 years in the UK, they don't want me anymore....... :disapint:
They are more than happy to take my blood should I return to the Uk though! :2thumbsup

I own a big red Honda and the panniers should be able to hold about 70 litres...

As a matter of interest, where would you put the needle in a Honda in order to get the juice out?

I used to donate blood but as I lived in the UK during the dark years they don't want it no more. So I leave it coagulating on the ground gathering dust and the attention of hungry flies.

same here.. dunno what's wrong with our poisoned blood.. we're still around, aren't we..??
I reckon they should have an 'English blood bank', then if these Kiwi's don't want our claret, we can dip into our own bin when their's runs out ;)

The other thing - I don't have a Honda. Does that mean I'm excluded..??
