Well i was thinking to myself i am about to spend $500 on a new set of tyres. Why not just put that as a down payment and get a new (ish) bike that will come with new tyres???? Hmmmmmm me will see what transpires later this week

Do you also you sell a car when the ashtray is full? :bleh:
When do you finish your studies? Maybe get a set of tyres to last you until you can begin to service your student loan AND a bright shiny 600 on HP..

Yeah don't bother mate. You won't ride it much since you're working, money could be put elsewhere.

Yeah, but a set of good sticky tyres will transform your ZXR into a new bike, and if youre not riding much, think how long they will last?

Same question i asked myself, I'm broke so it was either get my RGV on the road, so for the 600-700 for rego and legal type stuff I reckon I can race for this year, next year I'll think about getting a road bike again.

Go the tyres, bike will feel like new, and then once they've half worn, sell your bike for $500 more than what you originally planned, leaving you with plenty of $$$$ for the deposit on your next bike!

i know how you feel.. xmas 03 i had the same prob.
i had an old 600ss which needed tyres, chain, sprockets and a service. about $1500. so i sold it... it was the best thing i could have done.
however, now i have the same issue. i need new chain/ sprockts, reg and a service.. but this time i think i will just fix it up. i dont think i could bring myself to sell the zed at the mo.

Do you not like the bike? If so, get a new bike. But if you like the ride then just get the tyres. I plan on upgrading once to the Fireblade, but at present I cannot bring myself to trade in my CB

Ok here is the jist of it. I have been trying to sell this bike for 5K cuase i have had heaps of work done to it and it has quite a few extra's. But i want to try my hand at something bigger. I know it's a crappy way to go about it but i really wanna see if i can handel a 600. ( due to finances a late 90's 600 hopefully) If i don't like it i will go back to the 400 cause i like to chuck the bike around a bit. But once ...just once i want to get on the back wheel without using the clutch. Other than that i want to see how a 600 handels. If i don't like it after a couple of months i'll sell and buy as new a 400 as i can get my hands on (not new new but late 90's). I don't know what ill get though (looking at bike shop tomorrow :devil2: :devil2: ) hmmmmm how many test rides can i do on sat??

Well i took a vfr400r for a test ride today and it has heaps of torque, handeled pretty damn good. But brakes and acceleration were shoit compared to the zxr. I could probably learn to ride it really really good but as they said at the bikeshop it would be a step sideways. :argh:
I am test riding something else on saturday that i might probably end up getting ...... but we'll see

Sideways? Its a Honda shop, right?
The only better 400 you're going to find, is probably this one here :Punk:
whats better than a ZXR400H? (http://www.bikepoint.co.nz/DesktopDefault.aspx?UsedBikeID=593767&TabID=3553&Alias=bikepointnz)

Not that much..... and yes i wanna go racing but it will be in F3 so i'll have to save up. Remember i am buying it from a bike shop cause it'll come wif a warrenty. Its pretty banged up but i'll do the cosmetic work myself. Mechanically it is apparently awsome :niceone:

the shop says that so they can empty your wallet. remember its your money dont buy something you dont want. however i doubt you wouldnt like a 600. the only thing they arnt very good at is touring but even thats possible, but youve already got a sports bike so you know that. i think an early 90s 600 is also a sideways step with the only benefit being more power. my vote buy a good set of tyres for your current steed, youve already spent heaps on it your only gonna lose that money anyway. tyres are everything and can turn a bike from a pig into a sweet handling machine.

These guys wouldn't steer me wrong. They were also showing me a viffer 400 as an uternative. Took it for a test ride and didn't fancy it. Not enough up and go. Gonna test ride this other one on saturday and we shall see. It is a lates 90's one. A 98 i think and so it would have a bit more oomph (which is what i am after) if i don't like it i'll sell it. Loose a bit of money maybe but at i really wanna try a 6 hundy for a while :Punk: :Punk:
