Who's made of sugar and didn't ride to work today because they thought they were going to dissolve in the rain?

Mint! ... said the same thing when I was about to walk to the bus stop in the pouring rain. Classic Gods and Monsters line.

On two wheels again today
Not many others out though...

On days like today I really like having a car
However, I ought to go out and get some proper waterproof riding gear - getting your leathers (and everything underneath) soaked by riding 16 kms is just not worth it IMHO. While I do have a rain oversuit - it is a hassle getting in and out of it so I'd only use it if I get caught out.

Im definately not made of sugar. Anywho it wasnt the rain I was a bit iffy of this morning, it was the wind. Took my HTFU pill with breakfast and it was an interesting ride but I got to work in one piece!

i rode 100kms last night in a pretty hard out storm. it's the first time my boots have leaked! bought some goretex snowboard overmitts for my gloves - brilliant!
fucking slippery though - SH3 between Te Kuiti and Hamilton has flushed tar everywhere - had to show it some serious respect - slowed right down to under 120 most of the way......
oh yeah - didn't have any Rainex left, so used Pledge - just as good, and a lot cheaper!
it wasn't raining and i didn't ride

Yup was deifiantely the wind ... I took my soft pill this morning and bought the car - even that moved quite severely in the wind.

Ah, my 8 weeks of junk food and no excercise has helped that problem no end.... ;)

Not me, I rode today. And I don't have wet weather gear... yet.
Spent 2 hours in pair of overalls until my pants were dry enough to put back on!!!
I thought that I wouldn't see the regular bikers on Johns Road (SH1) this morning, but sure enough we were all present and accounted for! Guess they just breed us tough down here.

Come on guys. If you don't ride in the wind or the rain, you won't be riding much in Wellytown. Good waterproof gear helps as well.

I'm not made of sugar - I'm all crap.:shit:
But... I rode today. My wife (aka the vifferbabe) tried to put me off by reading out some alarmist stuff in the paper about how HUGE storms were expected, the sky is falling, we're all gonna die, but I went anyway.
Two days driving the car was enough (no, I wasn't being a pooosssie - I had stuff to do).
Yay for me.

Loved riding this morning in Christchurch. Pretty wet and a good gusty wind and a bit of floodwater but I really enjoyed it for some reason. Just felt really alive. I'm looking forward to the ride home too although the wind has just died and the rain eased off.

Twice in a row I've thought nah, not going to rain and then had to ride home in the pissing rain without my wet weather gear. Not a long ride so no great bother, but at least plenty of room on the bike parking spaces. To be honest, I don't mind the scooters, but when I get to where I park my bike and it's full of cheap chinese scooters, I just want to burn them. FFS, it's a MOTORBIKE park!!!
