Ouch.

a few years back at the acecafe, a chick who thought she was the shit managed to persuade a guy to let her ride his R1. she was wearing heels, jeans and no helmet. theres some nice pics somewhere of the incident... was quite amusing...

Man, I've done way worse on a skateboard. Got my forehead and cheeks too.

Chicks are into exfoliating though so it ain't all bad for her.

Haha, i've done worse also. Lowsided my bicycle on a steep downhill smacked my cheekbone on the ground pretty hard (was wearing a helmet), broke 2 ribs on the handle bars and grazed the knuckles on my left hand to the point where I was worried I'd gone through the tendons. Not to mention spraining my wrist for probably the 100th time which after this crash caused my thumb to stop moving. Had a large bike courier pack on my back too. And you know what. I worked through it cause I figured if I stopped working I'd only be feeling sore and not making any money. The worst part was the knuckle grazing... and later on the ribs made sleeping and sex really not much fun. Well ok sex was still fun, but I was more of a spectator.

:drool:makes you want to kiss her better. lol
Still it shows even on the smill bikes you need safety gear.

Same thing happened to me... back on the BMX bike though, I did a wheelie and landed face, elbow, and hand first (wow, three at once) onto the hard concrete. No scars, but it gave my ass cheeks a bit of a twitch!

LOL at this reply to the vid

If only they made some type of protective wear to prevent something like this, I'm thinking like a hard shell that covers your whole head...

I love sarcasm and stupid americans.

there is a Pic of a guy on Rotten.com that is missing the bottom half his face, I remember it every time I see an open face helmet.

Hey Coyete,
You a motorbiker AND a skater??
I`ve been limping around for over a month due to almost snapping my ankle on my ramp.
Trying to figure out which of the two is safer...

Can't say I'm a skater. That experienced put me off.

I tend to see at skateparks that there's very little skating being done and mainly chatting. What's more, any sign of moisture and no ones there. It could perhaps be more dangerous since it's uncool to wear any protective gear, but that's if you attempt anything.

Hmm, girl on wee bike in clip could have come a hell of a lot worse off! Seems she still had a sense of humour to pose for the camera at the end. Guess the safety gear issue depends on your opinion of what you're riding. A small set of wheels like that is a lot more tempting to treat casually than your larger road bike or dirt bike and, as has already been said, seen worse from bicycle or skate board injuries. As for the chick on the R1 she was kinda asking for it. Don't know how good a rider she is but having dropped a bike from stationary wearing "dress" boots with heels I know how stoopid it is to even go there.....

That's enough for me to replace my open face helmet, not that it's had much use....
