Not that I'm a Kwakker owner, but the latest Performance Bike mag to hit the shops has road tests on a whole range of the latest Kawasakis of all shapes and size, plus articles on various famous K models of yesteryear such as the 750 H2 triple, the GPZ900 and more besides. This particular issue is the best bike mag that I've come across for some time - go get it!

my old girl is has a K engine in her, so I'd be interested in reading this mag, so long as it's entirely objective of course not just a promotional stunt.

Doubt if it will sell well.

Cause Kawasaki buyers KNOW their buying quality without having to look is some magazine to see if certain models make the grade!

Unlike Other brands!

I take it Geoff that you still own shares in the mag then?! I bet you ride a really crap bike - oh - on the other hand you obviously have really good taste and know quality when you see it (Biff slowly retreats mumbling).

Is that the UK publishes performance Bike mag? I haven't seen it on sale anywhere here.

Is it the vibration or the woeful handling that causes their owners to suffer such grammatical impediment?

I still think the ZX6R was a great road sportsbike. (as opposed to a track sportbike like the GSXR) :stupid:

Suzuki's are like a loving dog, caring and loveable, yet also defensive and aggressive when they need to be.
Kamakazis are like a wild, rabid, bush pig - they run flat tack, you hold on, and steer it away from obsticles.
I used to love Suzukis and Yamahas - but now i have a fond spot for the Kwakas. Someday i have my orange Z1000turbo(with a shot of NOS for measure).

Original Z1 had less restrictions i *think* also had a built in chain luber, aswell as the wonderful Single front disc. Z900 had an ugly paintjob when compared to the Z1.

Im surprised the Turbo only made 9th! ill definatley be buying that mag! WICKED :D

anyway to complete my collection i will someday soon have a GPz900R... look so nice too.

This Z900 was on trademe, there's one on there now too, but it's a bit pricy

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbike-Parts/Other/auction-20606180.htm

I've had an H1 ZXR750 and a ZZR1100, maybe it's time for that ZX10r, although I dunno if it's quite the leap forward the ZXR and ZZR were ? Anyone ?

I'm thinking my next bike will have to be an old nasty Kwak classic to rebuild, then maybe a trail bike Kwak, then maybe I'll need streetfighter Kwak and a... and a...

And a beating from the Mrs probably.

Heh heh...

Sedge.

H2 ahead of the Z1????, but I do have to agree about the cruiser style bikes. Could it be possible that the "turbo" is actually the Z1R-tc?
And who mentioned the Z900?? I had a KZ900 from the good ol' USA and the best thing about that was the Corbin seat. The KZ/Z900 was certainly no improvement over earlier Z1s. It seemed the Z900 with the double disc had a few less problems with brake fade but were even more scary in the wet taking even longer to actually start working when you first put them on.

This would seem to be a good thread to ask if anyone has a spare head from anything between a Z1000J thru to the last GPz1100. It's for a good cause.

My turbo has an original '73 Z1 cases and gearbox, talk about over-engineered! And then Kawasaki increased the size of the cranks in the Mk2s after some Yanks broke a few. I also have a Kawasaki poster of the Z1 engine which is dated 1972.

Kawasaki where developed a 750 4 cylinder 4-stroke. Honda bet them to market so produced it as a 900 I think.

Correct. The project name was pork chop or beef steak or something. The poster is for a 900 Z1 engine, dated October 1972. My first wife had a '74 Z1 which had a Z2 frame. It looked identical to my Z1 frame but when I picked them both up at the same time her frame was quite a bit lighter. I fitted GSX750 carbs to hers and that would have to be one of the best mods ever.

And the first box of Z1's arrived in NZ November 1972. And were cheaper then the following years by a considerable amount apparently (prices went up with demand i guess)
