Well I have a spare TZR250 2.5 x 17 rear rim complete with disc.
I can do this disc if you like. Give me the measurements of the mounting holes etc and I'll tell you if it's compatible.

Cheers

Hi Steve,

The outer diameter is 210mm but is the same distance between the mounting holes?
(Refer the amended pic)

I'll let ya know as soon as I have a go at removing it from the wheel.
You know what these bolts can be like !!! :angry2:

Heat to break down the loctite & a smart tap with a punch. If the bolt heads slop a bit a centre-punch to the side of the bolt face will squash them up a bit tighter.

Yep too tru mate, thanks for your comments Dave. There are a number of ways to remove bolts, needless to say I've resorted to the grinder and drill before now.

Before you get stuck in can we agree on a price, after a big off at the last Mt Welly meet I have other major repairs to do, and being a bucket racer I'm a tight arse bastard too.

Cheers

Okay dokey, fellow bucketeer.

The wheel cost me $125.00 and I guess the disc is 1/5th of the wheel so how does $25 sound?

SHELRACING
28th July 2008, 19:34
Sweet, cheers mate. I'll have to get you to courier it if that's ok, any chance I can have the bolts if you can get them out ok.

If you want to send me your details you can email me at
shelracing@orcon.net.nz.

Let me know how you get on getting the disc off

Steve

but it still would have been slower

$100 bike gets expensive fast if you want a good bucket

Hey Chris the disc arrived this morning. Cheers for that.

I see you are running a Loncin motor. What's the spec/mods on yours. I'm running a Loncin 150 in an FXR frame. Done a few mods too.

Care to swap notes, I need to wring a bit more out of mine to catch the CB125t's.

Glad you got the disc :)

Well, I raced just yesterday. A couple of things came out from that.
I NEED MORE HP !!!
Mine is bog stock, save for a 30mm pumper carb. Unfort the twins, the FXR and 2 strokes were a lot faster. Some the issue I found was my gearing was still a tad tall so if I had geared it down it may have made a difference.

I did a little testing with the revcounter and found that the power drops off at around 10-10500rpm.
I did see me pulling 11,500rpm a few times during the heat of battle, but those revs I reckon are about all the motor will take and I wouldn't recommend doing that too often !!

My next move is pulling the head off and seeing what I can do with the ports plus look at "hottening" the camshaft for lift and duration. The motors stock are very mild and reckon you can squeeze some more hp's without too much effort and expense.
The carb is as big as the rules let you go for a 150 (I think, don't quote me though).
I'm also going to relook at the pipe and seeing if I can match the header length for the hp I need. The Slipway is a tight track and mid-range is good, but from what I've seen of the faster tracks, the Loncins are not match for the FXR's etc.

okay, enough crappiola, I'd be more than happy to share and receive notes on Loncin tuning.
