On opening an account with Paypal recently to purchase parts from a Bike Company oversees, I was charged some sort of fee on my credit card, which if I gave them the code, I could get refunded. So I ring the credit card company and get the code from them and request the fee to be refunded. On getting the statement, however, I notice that instead of refunding me the fee they have charged it again! Has anyone else had this happen to them and how did you get the fee back?

I refuse to use pay pal at all. Never had an issue with them personally, have heard some good stories about them, but some bad ones too! Good luck mate. My advice, complain to your credit card company and get them to reverse the charge you have not agreed to. They can then start a procedure to investigate the double charge.

I've had no problems at all with PayPal, and don't remember a charge like that to get started. Mebbe it's a new fangled invention.

Well, I've requested one of them be refunded on their site, but don't know how to request the other, as the page won't re-load for another request, so we'll see what happens and I'll contact my credit card company and contest the second charge.

When I signed up for paypall it was a $0.01 transaction.

What are they doing now?

Hmm? To memory paypal doesn't refund your credit card. They just put $5 in your paypal account after you give them that code.

used paypal for a few years now, it helped us recover $500 worth of motorbike gear that a uk suppplier never shiped.

the fee they charge you is to authorise your account, you get a number on your credit card bill, once you ge tthe bill and enter it on the site you get the credit back in your account which you can transfer back to your credit card.

Ok, I'll look out for it on my Paypal account, but as for the double charge, I'm not very happy about that.
