Off Road Survey for Auckland Region

We are undertaking a survey on behalf of the Auckland Regional Council as part of a study into the demand for off road motorised recreation in the Auckland region. The aim of the study is to gain an in depth understanding of the demand for and the core issues surrounding off road motorised recreation. The primary purpose of the survey is to gather your thoughts so that we can better understand the demand for off road motorised recreation.

The survey is aimed at people participating in off road motorised recreation within the Auckland region. The survey can be found on:

http://visitorsolution.off-road-motorised-sport-survey.sgizmo.com

The survey is available from now until the 15th August. Thank you for your time. Let us know if you can't access the link

Cheers

Please, please, if you respond to this survey make informed decisions as this survey will reflect the future strategy for Offroad Motorcycling in the Auckland area. This process will shape how places like Ardmore are managed and controlled.

Not only that but it will be the basis on how they provide more areas for 4 x 4, Quads and Off road bikes in general.

Remember the people doing this survey are not nescessary m/bike riders so any info you provide has to be logical and balanced. Don't make us look like the perverbial.

"how far are your prepared to drive"
"how much are you prepared to pay"

sure i've driven up to 500 km for a big weekend ride, and paid up to $80 bucks, but for general riding even the 40min trip to woodhill is a pain in the ass and i wont pay over $30; just ride at home for free instead

so if we all put in big numbers will they put in a park 500km from auckland at $100 a visit, and if we put in low ones we'd get cornwall park open to bikes at free entry??

Nice of em to tell people about it!! Haven't seen any evidence of it in bike shops anywhere, particularly given that the close off date is this Friday and the "industry" as in MNZ and some of the biggest wholesalers haven't either known about it or chose to push it. Given the support for offroad riding areas with-in the industry I take it it's the former. The biggest problem at the beach at least has been the absemse of policing at the Golf Club entrance to the beach and the closure of the Rimmer's road access. Given the forest is still "publicly owned" the lack of access to public lands is a crime. Given that we have to share the forest with horsey wankers and every other forest and bird sandal wearing greenie we do face something of a problem maintaining continued access. Hence I've sent links of the survey to everyone in my address book.
