Over-active message checker

I've been trying to write "RIP" in the post

but the message editor keeps changing it to "Rip". How can I turn this "feature" off?

I tried, believe me I tried. It (and I'm a little unclear about what "it" is) insisted on replacing "RIP" with "Rip", "R I P" with "R i p", etc.

It'll be interesting seeing how this turns out.
