Yellow gunk...?

Hey there,

Bike is CBR250R. I've put up a picture of this yellow gunk that was all through the compartment in the air filter box. My mate tipped most of it out before I could take a photo of what it was like when we first opened it up but basically most of the compartment was full of this sorta fluffy, bubbly looking yellow stuff. I have no idea what it is and wondered if anyone on here had any clues.

Same colour as the oil in your crankcase?

Sort of fluffy felt? It'll be the remnants of an airfilter element that has broken up. Clean it out and put a new filter in.

Is it a foam filter too? Might be some strange concoction of old horrible filter oil and fuel and ancient foam bits.
