i have been told that my bike may need the stearing head bearings done this may be the cause of a stearing issue that just wont go away
neways is it advisable to get a bike shop to do?
or just give it a crak nigel?

i am quite mechanicaly minded but this would be the first one ive done any advice please???

Never done it myslef (so I'm probably full of shit) but I Imagine it wouldn't be any more difficult than wheel bearings on a car.
Apart from supporting the bike...

Getting the tension / drag just right is the trick. My advice is to get a bike shop to do it that has a very experienced and fastidious mechanic.

I do my own, it's not too hard apart from getting the lower race back in :mad: but with a bit of patience and common sense it can be done with a minimum of fuss. You can find the correct tension to run 'em at on the net or in a manual. Basically you wanna tighten 'em so you can JUST feel a bit of drag without the forks in there. It is critical that you don't overtighten them, it'll give you some interesting handling....

done and done bike actually goes in a straight line now and i can confurm the lower inner race cunty as had to go down to tss to get it pressd on other than that no dramas everything lookd and went back on as per the workshop manual:apint:
