After weeks of $hitty weekend weather I trust everybody* got out and rode today? What a t'riffic day weatherwise. The Ducati fuelling gremlins even behaved themselves.

*well...apart from the poor buggers in the snow

I think the whole of the north island biking community was either in the Coro or at the Kaiaua chip shop! We were there for lunch and it took 1/2 hour to get our order. Fantastic day though and a wonderful antidote to going stir-crazy at home:rockon:

Cheers,

Geoff

Maha and I went to the drags at Meremere. Absolutely freezing, hate to think what the wind chill was on the bike this morning! Had a great time, that sunshine was so lovely, chilly wind though.

I am putting my order in for these days to be regular on weekends from now on

Only managed to sneak a quick half hour, bloody good though, a bit chilly round the nads I thought. Come on spring baby.

Squillions of bikes out there, all going in the opposite direction to me , I hate that, either I'm missing summat or everyone's avoiding me, B'stards.

Went for a ride in the sun with my honey, took some pictures of my bike as it hadn't been photographed since the addition of a few bits of bling then rode around and around some corners again and again to practice some stuff and saw several other folk on bikes doing the same circuit due to the the usual practice track being covered in snow! Grand day for it!!
Here's a nice picture of my hornet enjoying the sun!

I went on the Wild West Honda ride up to Waipu cove (past mangawhai heads).
It was sooo good to go for a proper ride after so many weekends of shit weather. First proper ride on the SV too. There were heaps of other bikes on the road up north too.

Ohhh, yes. Lots of bling. So, I think I've seen the levers before but ... handlebars? (very Tuono, BTW) New pipe?

So where'd you ride today? I just did the Wainui coast road a bit - still a bit damp in patches. Oh, and I had (on Thursday) an astounding midweek/lunchtime blat up piecock hill too :)

The weather was certainly way too good to not take the bike out although a tad chilly first thing.

Went to the drags at Meremere and watched the guys going for it. Loved the burnouts and admire the speed and skill. Oh and I especially liked seeing the NightRod out there....but I would say that wouldnt I.

Had the pipes and bar for a while now, in fact haven't added new bling for ages but just didn't have any pics done since adding the levers and probably the pinstriping (most of the really expensive bling is under the seat now!!)
We went for a wee ride around the Pahatanui inlet and Grey's Road where the pics were taken. Beautiful day for it wasn't it! I was thinking of a ride over Piecock, but there were so many cages out and about also that I didn't fancy meeting a road hog around there!
How's that lovely new bike of yours going? Are you finding the white ok to keep clean? Pics please!!!!

There is about as much shame in having pea sized balls as having the tightest nipples known to man...

It has been perfectly rideable in the last few weeks. Put your wet weathers on and get out there.

Under the seat? Oh, is that a custom chair too? Nice chair :)

I was thinking of a ride over Piecock, but there were so many cages out and about also that I didn't fancy meeting a road hog around there!
Yeah, I don't like that the 40-something Holden driving dept tend to treat it as a bit of a racetrack in a kind of "doesn't matter if I go a bit wide here, does it?" fashion. It's pretty mossy at the moment too - but still a great road when dry, eh?

How's that lovely new bike of yours going? Are you finding the white ok to keep clean? Pics please!!!!
Cleaning. Heh, yes. Not as bad as you might've thought - there's not actually all that much white on it, and the bits of white are large slabs of it ... the tank, front mudguard and some curious almost fairing but not quite bits that stick out at the side of the seat. However, the wash mitt thing I has is prone to shitting little tiny bits of oil. Not a problem on a black bike but white ... different story. Still, today's discovery is a little bit of "Australian Degreaser" squirted onto a cloth. Unbelievably good for little dots of oil and also very very good for cleaning wheels.

I *need* to score a tank pad though.

Going? Wonderfully. Nice Mr Triumph says I can now use 6k RPM and not just five and this gives me a nice comfortable riding range for 95% of needs - it's just that I've not been good enough for the nice thrashy bit at the top. Given the current state of the roads I can't say it's all that much of a problem.

The ride is awesome. It's much easier to ride than the speed 4 was (itself seemingly a piece of piss, once set up properly) and I've started only realising exactly how fast I'm honking along when I go to change up a gear and find it not there. Happened about half a dozen times today. I've started being a bit more adventurous in corners too - it loves it when you stick your arse over the edge a bit. Wonderful bike :)

There's a pic in my profile. I'll take some more some time when the weather's nice and I'm feeling particularly vain.

Great day for a ride - first time Ive been out for weeks without my wet weather gear (well, wore the jacket for its warmth) legs got a bit cool but nice to be out. Bikes galore everywhere down here too - I reckon anyone who owned a motorbike this morning must have had their eyes light up when they pulled the curtains this morning and saw sunshine and blue skies... all other plans would have been tossed out the window - I know mine were

Was nice to be out. As mentioned there were '00's of bikes out there. - You could see that some were rusty and probally hadnt been riding much over the last month.

Grabbed a beer at the pub top of SW16 and in the period it takes to drop a beer on a nice sunny day watched 4 cops come up, turn around and head back again. Where is the trust? Made sure to observe the 70km and 50km zones to the letter just incase 5 0 was parking up.

Got about 500km under the seat - enjoyed the riding with the sun on my back heading home.

Some days biking makes you feel so bloody good.:woohoo:
