Hi there,

Got a VFR400 NC30.

Light is not working when activating rear brake.

Where do i start?

Do you need it for wof or do you just need front?

Cheers.

I assume the front brake activates the lights fine? Must just be the switch that the rear brake should hit. Down near the pedal, follow the system and you should see where it's trying to hit the switch, might just need adjusting. Unless some wiring is screwed, but start with the switch as I'd say it's most likely it.

Thanks man.

Yeah front works fine.

Ok now to find this damn switch- electrical probs always seem daunting at first!

They do indeed, at least with the front working it narrows it down significantly! Tomorrow morning I'll pop out to the bike and describe in more detail what I'm talking about with the switch lol.

If you just follow the rear brake pedal and all that moves around it, you should notice something pressing into a rubber "button" kinda thing and that would be the switch sensor.

excellent thanks man.

Hopefully it will be a piece of piss. By the way... your bike looks lovely in your picture. Im thinking of getting mine either done something like that or a black.

Havent taken a look at the viffer lever setup but usually its a simple wire job, wee bit of wire which is hooked onto the lever and also to a switch above it. If its this type you could check if its just badly adjusted by pulling on the wire (thus activating the switch) and seeing if the brake light comes on with that. If it does you simply need to wind out the switch a bit more till pressing the lever activates it. Again, havent actually checked the viffer setup but most tend to go with this simple setup

Had to take the switch out and adjust it- done.
