Hi guys

Brand new to the forum, and just looking at buying my first bike and gears... fun times!

I want to get decent leathers, so am looking at Quasimoto (found the link from these forums and a friend said they're nice) - I love the look of this jacket - http://www.quasimoto.co.nz/products/leather-bike-jackets/rapid-blue/

Only point I've had against it is that the colour may look a bit dumb if I end up getting a different coloured bike (I'm looking at a blue bike now)... but I don't really want to go all black, I like the idea of having a bit of colour!

So what do you think? Is it that big a deal? Should I just go black??

Also, does anyone have Quasimoto gear? I've been offered a pretty awesome deal so think I'll be stupid not to go for it ;)

Cheers!

It really isnt a big deal, black is the "safe" option for sure, but being colour match kinda can look gay as well, I think that multi coloured options is fine, infact it looks good on any coloured bike.
Its a personal choice though and both sides of the "look good" arguments have a point, just go with what youre comfy with.
Heaps of QUASiMOTO gear amongst Kiwibiker members and I think you will find it gets a great vote from here, it has to otherwise we would be out of business !

cheers

you have to match your bike, if you have a blue bike get blue gear.

it really is that simple.

And why is that?
dang... he rides a kwaka... *throws out the usual honda/gay jokes*

Certain things can look weird, ie, some people have had repsol jackets, and owned something other than a honda. Some people like to pose, and therefore, take special care to colour match everything (you haven't even mentioned gloves, boots, helmet etc).

Personally, I like black, so all my gear is black, and I buy black bikes... instant colour matching!

When you fall off - its hardly going to matter what colour it is now is it??

Buy good quality, who cares if its pink??

Colour matching is one thing but at least you're not considering brand matching (eg. suzuki bike/suzuki branded jacket).

Then you'd look like a real cock :jerry:

if you change bikes you could get your leathers dyed to match new colour if you so wish.

Or just don't worry about matching

Meh, I got Red/Black Leathers when my bike was the same color. Now my bikes silver(ish) but I wont be replacing anything (Sorry Quasi :bleh:).

If you have the cash to throw around then sure, why not, I'm sure the guys selling the gear would be more than happy to ablige. But there's really no point... unless you go really over the top and get branded gear matching your bike then change brands. Might look a tad funny dressed as say the poster child for Honda while riding a Kwaka :msn-wink:

As for Quasi's gear, I have the same Jacket except red and the attaching pants. Great gear, great price. Nuff said :niceone:

I think your gear some what matching is more important (if you can call it that) looks-wise than it suiting your bike, unless your getting super specific and out-there colours just have your gear "suiting" (like when you wear clothes) and it'll look sweet on any bike- ie if you get a red one piece you might not want a blue helmet, and you probably want to get the matching pants or black pants for that jacket) oh, and some helmets with graphics can look a bit funny on cruisers.(wore my suomy on my old mans triumph and it looked silly but I didn't really give a shit-was stoked he let me ride it)

buy fluro orange - that way if you get hit and they say they didn't see you......you have every right to smack them in the face.

Yeah according to the dealer this is the first shipment of blue ones they've had... of course I still haven't actually seen it yet, so just going on their word.. will have to wait and see.

I bought a blue Rapid when my bike was blue. Then I didn't wear it coz I felt like a clothes horse tosser.

Now the bike has changed, leather gets out in the fine weather, but the cordura wins on the manky days.

Quasis stuff is very good, especially if you can get it on sale. You won't believe they can makemit for that price.

I just wear black......guess that makes me a black rider....hurhurhur.

Actually I don't usually give a hoot about what things look like - rather about how they function. I would always choose the one that works over the one that looks good......which is probably why I am divorced........

I've got a red black and grey Quasimoto Jacket. I like the colours for a "Be safe be seen" point of view. Coincidentally I have also got a red bike.

Does this make me a twat? Probably not but I can make up for that with most of my posts

BTW, I did end up getting the Quasi blue/black jacket and black pants.. stoked with it, glad I went with Quasi for sure.
