In fact... if anyone is interested, I have two genuine Suzuki gel seats to move on. One for a 2003-2004 GSX-R1000, and one for a 2004-2008 SV650/1000

They're generally regarded as a worthwhile upgrade for the SV1k. Suzuki themselves make a factory gel seat for the SV.

You can have it for a hundy. I don't think it will fit the 03. Suzuki changed the sub-frame 04 onwards.
I also have the genuine Suzuki lower seat for the 04 onwards SV650/1000

I can trump that! I lost mine when I stood up to fart and the sheepskin finished up in between my chain and rear sprocket.

The SV seat has "SV" embossed on it, and the gixxer one has the "GSX-R" logo on it. They're built on stock Suzuki seat bases. They are genuine Suzuki parts

How much do these gel seats retail for in NZ?

98tls

Never heard of anyone stocking them here to be honest, would imagine it would be grossly over priced if they did, ebay is your friend, even better try Gixxer.com or similar.

Instead of spending a lot on another seat get the current one modified. I had the seat on the speed triple reshaped with different filler / gel by Rider Seats (http://www.trimit.co.nz/index.htm) here in NZ.

How easy are the seats to move around on, if you like throwing the bike into a corner and hanging off the side

I looked into a Triumph Gel seat for the triple, but was strongly advised not to. I was told they are slippery and get pretty hot in summer, so I ended up getting a Sargent seat from the US.

Only thing is, you'd get off the bike after burning through a tank of petrol, and there'd be two round cheek imprints on your seat.

Not all of us have such a luxury posterior as yourself though ;)
