Good to know that life means fuck all you you.
I met the guy when I was involved with outward Bound. Awesome dude. To throw out such petty, and quite frankly disgusting comments after a death is abhorrent.
No-one deserves to die like that.

Once again there's some unbelievably crass stuff rearing its ugly head.

RIP to the fella who passed away. It's always sad - although not as sad as it could have been - when people pass away doing what they enjoy the most.
Good on Helen Clark for enjoying one of the aspects of NZ that makes it stand out in the first place - whether I agree with her political agenda or not.
Stop acting like pricks - just because you don't necessarily agree with everybody else in the motorcycling community I don't hope you wish them to come to an untimely end. FFS grow some perspective and a bit of respect!

This thread http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=71293 shows that all KB'ers should be pleased because however the country has been run motorcycle sales have increased and isn't that what you'd all want?
Ah who remembers the Ruth Richardson years and can tell me how National really improved this country?

This is Gottlieb's brief CV - i don't think he was one of the staffers:
Gottlieb Braun-Elwert
A former nuclear physicist, Gottlieb is a UIAGM qualified mountain and ski guide, with 46 years of mountaineering and 36 years of professional guiding experience. He is a member of the German and the New Zealand Mountain Guides Associations. His most notable climbing achievements include: First ascent of entire Peuterey Ridge of Mont Blanc (1973), all New Zealand 3000m peaks during a single winter (1989), winter ascent of Cerro Fitz Roy (Supercanaleta 1993), three winter crossings of the Patagonian Ice Cap (1994, 1995, 1996), Cerro Aconcagua (2001), 26 ascents of Aoraki Mount Cook and 8 ascents of Mount Tasman. In May 2002 he traversed Denali (Mount McKinley). Gottlieb pioneered many ski touring routes in Europe and in New Zealand. He continues to guide and climb at the forefront of the sport. Gottlieb is a member of the Canterbury - Aoraki Conservation Board.
RIP dude.

I've known a few serious trampers in my time and the fact is that they are not much different from us. They have a 'passion' for what they love, as we do. For those that made disparaging comments on Clark just remember she tried to help a fellow tramper/climber when he was in trouble, just as you would expect help from us/biker if you were on the road and in trouble.

That's why Key will make such a mess of things. Look at his track record since becoming leader of the Nats. He's done a U Turn on just about everything he has said. That's experiance for ya.

So "Big Government" is OK Helen Clark is in charge and pure as the driven snow! No hidden agendas or influences! :innocent:
But "Big Business" is evil. John Key is just a puppet for clandestine business interests! :shifty:

Back on topic for a moment;
My condolences have to go to Helen Clarke today, she has lost a friend in horrible circumstances, something I would not wish on my worst enemy. I have enough human compassion to feel for her in her time of loss. Hardened politician she may be, but underneath she is human.
Shame on any of you that can not recognise the "human" side of a tragedy like this.
