Shell Helix Motorsport
Sunday January 23rd 2005
TV ONE 3pm to 6pm
It's finally time for the return of the most watched Motorsport show Shell
Helix Motorsport hosted by Geoff Bryan and the best from around the country
and also from around the world again every Sunday afternoon this year. For
the next few weeks we will be highlighting some of the best action from
around New Zealand over the summer months.
3.00pm V8 Ute's Summer Shoot Out - Eastern Creek.
Just a little action to get the show started today and highlights from the
V8 Ute's summer shoot out held at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway.
3.25pm Motorcycling - Wanganui Street Race.
To the local scene now and the first of the big battle of the streets
meetings held on Boxing Day from Wanganui.
4.35pm Mike Pero Motorsport Series - Formula Ford and Bridgestone Porsche.
Round 3 Timaru.
Coverage from a rather wet Timaru Raceway as the Mike Pero Motorsport series
moved into the New Year and the first of the event coverage from this
meeting today. First up we look at the Formula Ford class as well as the
Bridgestone Porsche series. There is more coverage next week from Timaru
including the new Toyota Racing Series and the mighty NZV8 Touring cars.
5.15 pm Speedway - South Pacific Sprint Car Championship - Baypark.
The start of our Speedway coverage also kicks off today and we look at one
of the feature meetings to be held this summer and the South Pacific
Sprintcar championship at the top class Speedway venue at Baypark.

Hell, that was pretty good! Was it Kris Shirrifs on the Honda motard which caught on fire? Geez, was he concussed or something, just sort of ambled around and started dragging burning hay bales off his bike, along with a couple of other guys, brave boys !

It was Craig Flood and they either repaired it or he had a spare because he raced at the Port Nelson street race on the 2nd of January
Good coverage,I'll be making sure I've got something to race there next year

Yeah it was awesome coverage. That bike looked like it was a bit burnt. Lucky the fuel tank didn't rupture or it would have been a very toasted bike.
How about the rob holden mem races. Even though I was there I didn't have a clue what was going on, only knew who was leading. Wondered why anstey stopped coming around after a few laps.

It's a lot more than we normally see,a few emails telling TVNZ what top blokes they are for showing it would probably go down ok as well,if they dont know we like it they wont show it!

yeah good idea, but i'm sure the reason they showed it is because the sponsors paid for it to be on. still good though.

It was good coverage - I was on teh start/finish line all day, now I see why there was so much smoke when poor Craig Flood's bike went up.
Good to see they covered a lot of different classes too.

Funny me too, me waking up at 2.30pm (dont ask) seeing the coverage starting at 3.25pm (oh shit yea was i happy) girlfreind saying right we are going shopping, come along now ( ya shitting me) got my flatmate to tape it (sweet) got home round 6pm, rewound the tape started to watch it, girlfriend wanted to watch the news, okay no probs, went and pulled more broken parts off the TL for a while, time passed, went back out to watch the rest, saw the VCR recording (no farkin way) (oh yeas farkin way) had been set to record a programme for my flatmate at 7:30 it was now 8:15.
Stopped the tape and got bout 2mins at the begining and 4 min at the end.
But big ups to Shell Helix for better than normal coverage on Kiwi m'cycle racing, well done, soon LIVE coverage, well maybe not soon.
