Can you wear contacts and join the police.

Can you join the police if you have had 200 demerits (lost license twice) and one instant loss of license for speeding

anyone know how much in the hand pay the cops start out on?

Good eyesight required

Applicants must have good eyesight, defined as a minimum visual standard of 6/12 unaided in each eye, correctable to 6/6 with contact lenses or eyeglasses. There are no exceptions.

Any applicant who wears or has worn glasses or contact lenses either full-time or part-time, has any form of colour blindness or has had corrective eye surgery, must contact the Recruitment Office to arrange an eye test by a Police approved optometrist (at the applicant’s expense).

Or you can talk to any of the officers at their manned recruitment offices. You can find a list of them here (http://www.menumania.co.nz/restaurants/search?action=search&region_id=2&district_id=&cuisine_type_id=&s=dunkin%27).

ah no its not...it'd be discrimination if there wasn't a good reason to not allow people with sight impairment.

could you imagine a cop who said "i think the plate was ADK352...but my glasses slipped and i was unable to read it"

....its the desk job for you sonny.

Eyesight is not all of it though you need to be able to get the better of someone that is gonna try and wollop you if you cant do that or atleast take a good couple of punches to the head and then still get the better of the offender then you wont last very long in the job

Dont worry about the contacts - its the slow learner part that will screw you. 200 demerits and an instant loss? VERY slow...

I got grilled over three simple speeding tickets I had prior to joining, 60 demerits total. You would be taken out back and shot.

Talk to the recruiting office.
