Question for the Hutt/Rapa crew

I've got to head over the hill tomorrow morning from Welly and was wondering if anyone has been on the hill today. What's the conditions like?
I don't mind the rain or a bit wind but the forecast doesn't look that good for the morning. I don't particularly want to have to battle my way over on the bike if the cage is more sensible for the conditions.

There are weather warnings out there http://metservice.co.nz/default/index.php?alias=farmwarnings .. but none saying that rimutakas are going to be under snow. metservice says yukky rain and wind and not a lot else really. Northwest winds .. tomorrow wellington morning has thunder and lighting expected but wairarapa looks ok

I live in the top of Upper Hutt its nearly 8.30am.....take the cage! there had been some strong gusts here, some heavy rain and it still looks threatening out there.
