How many people can you fit on your bike and still be able to ride safely? Well it certainly isn't 6 - check this out:

I saw five on a bike in Kanchanaburi (Thailand) - Dad in control, with a kid in front of him, then a kid behind him, then Mum at the back, with a a baby in a backpack.... Only Dad was wearing a helmet ......:spanking:

The whole philosophy of driving/riding in Thailand just blew me away - they figure (so far as I can understand and summarise) that if you're going to have an accident, it's meant to be, so there's not much point in safety precautions. Actually makes a bit of sense to me! At least they live in the moment! :punk:

What she said. 4 or 5 on a bike in Malaysia, Indonesia and many SE Asian countries is not uncommon. I guess the increasing fuel prices will see this increasing too.

In many of those countries Dad wears the helmet because he is the dominant member of the family. If they had a second helmet it would go to the eldest son, ond so on. I remember being asked by an Indonesian business acquaintance "How many sons do you have?" as opposed to 'how many children?'. Islamic influences put a whole different spin on how they see things

Saw so many large families on a moped whilst living in Viet Nam. What was especially freaky was seeing a kid sat in the basket atteched to the front of the bike. Sadly you do become aclimatised to it after a while.

Is anyone actually in a lane? They all seem to be just aimlessly weaving around each other.

And the fort on the back of that bike.. it has a roof and everything, that would be seriously scary..

I went 3up on a farm trike once, I sat on the little tray thing above the front wheel, I was supposed to pay attention and listen to warnings of when the guy in control was changing gear (it would kick every time, centrifugal clutch..) but I got too used to it and zoned out (too much fun?) and got thrown off, left me running along infront of the trike down a very uneven dirt track until I managed to climb back on and keep going. Fun and good times! but we shouldnt've done it
