more news on thet net today that Cody has been up testing Sx with Joe Gibbs Racing, and he has been offered a ride for next year,

awesome news,

Danger

How does that differ to what he currently has?

scott411
21st August 2008, 12:43
Joe Gibbs racing is a factory support team, with one of the biggest budgets outside the factory teams, with a huge support base, (joe Gibbs is a nascar team owner, and superbowl winning American Football Coach) it is the best thing under a factory team,

the current team he runs for is very basic set up, running out of a trailer, (not a semi like most teams) he has good equipement though Pro Circuit and RG3 and some factory stuff from Suzuki for reliabilty,

That's great news, question though would it be realistic for Cody to be picked up by a factory next year, he's got to be real close to an event podium.

scott411
21st August 2008, 13:19
problem is he has not shown he can ride Supercross, and that makes up probebly 70% of the contract at the moment, it would be very hard to get on a full factory 450 team with out even entering a US supercross, remember Chad Reed had to go back to a lites bike to get a ride in the states, even though he had jsut finished 2nd in the world MX1 championship (250cc two strokes as it was back then)

Next round up is Southwick 338. What the ---- does the 338 stand for (Scott?), always wanted to now.
Is it true that De Reuver will be there, sounds funny to me

the land that the Southwick track is built on used to be a military base or something similar, it was number known as outpost 338, thats were it comes from,

Yes De Reuver is riding, on BT's factory Red Bull honda, will be interesting, by teh guys like Langston and BT, southwick is not a hard core dutch style sand track, but it will be very interesting to see how he goes,

Damn that's good, next year with Cody & Ben racing it's going to be real interesting to see if they can pick up the 3 seconds a lap that Bubba still has up his sleeve.

Nah mate he was fucked after the first moto, not used to the pace over there eh, sprint start to finish. You would think he would be able to get plenty of air into his body and go the distance with the mouth he has on him..

Not too many of those blue bikes featuring in the AMA results this year and Chad Reed couldn't wait to get on another brand so Cody may be better off where he is.

Cody the dark horse aye, who'd have known he would go over there and do so well on a privateer bike etc. Nothing but respect for the fulla.

To Marcs defence, he is only recently getting over a broken foot. I think he's an awesome guy, great to have in mx.

lol i wouldnt have guessed!!! Obviously he has got as far as he has totally on riding ability prob a big part thanks to kawasaki back in the day getting him back into riding and he has never had to promote himself but i still reckon he could do with someone that does some pr work for him! He is smoking the best of the best in usa and i havnt seen f/a about him on the news etc, a little bit in some magazines but nothing like bt would be getting if he were in exactly the same position simply because bt or someone is doing the website etc posting reports to magazines etc

Not that it would really worry coops, maybe to much hype would put a bit much pressure on

Top privateer first time round in the AMA outdoor series.... Somebody forgot to tell Cody that you usually need to work up to something like that haha.

Top marks to the man and I'm sure we're all looking forward to seeing how he does next season with the new bike and support team! Is he doing the SX?

scott411
1st September 2008, 09:33
he is doing SX and MX next year, there are rumours that he is talkign to a few teams, Joe Gibbs racing yamaha's, but apprantly the team he is with has a right of refusal, no offical annoucement yet,

i know he is back in NZ this week,

Danger

dose it get any better than training and riding with bt and rc, riding a bike built by mitch payton and pro circuit, mid week dinners with rc's family going over the coming weekends round, man hes living the dream straight of the bat!
why change anything.
