Howzit all...I was wondering if you guy's in NZ also have a problem with kids riding around on their little 125cc scooters with little or no protective clothing? Here in Cape Town it's a huge problem. It really pisses me off to see youngsters riding around with just a helmet on, t-shirt, shorts, and sandals. Do the parents of these kids think that you cannot get hurt falling off a scooter??? Yeah, it's probably gonna look stupid riding around on a scooter with full leathers, but what's more important??...looking cool or saving yourself from some serious road rash or even death? I've tried talking to some of these kids but they look at you with this "what the hell do you know" attitude. They obviously have not fallen yet...

Thought i'd put in my sub-months riding 2c worth.
Even if I had a scooter, I'd wear at the LEAST a leather jacket and jeans...
I don't think I've even seen one with a leather jacket?
Plenty with high-vis things, which is quite good.
Just anyone under 20 seems to give 2/10's of a hoot about being half a meter away from nice skin grafts.
Reminds me I REALLY need leather pants... And a tinted visor, the black river is effing reflective when it's sunny, goddamn hurts!

I had to laugh at a proper scooterist today...
I couldn't get to him/her/it to warn him due to traffic, but laughed as the lid of the Givi topbox was flapping in the breeze... fully open and unlocked!
Hopefully nothing was lost, but the person was determined to filter quickly in traffic.
