Does anyone else feel that Peter Montgomery is past his use by date? Listening to him the other night in the rowing I was just about pulling my hair out - the guy just seems to be enamoured of his own voice. Not only that, but he's made some dodgy calls with announcing kiwis in the front when they're not, mis-announcing their placing as they cross the finish line, getting totally stuck on repeating his favourite word/phrase/superlative of the day, and well just having complete verbal diarrhea. Peter Williams is another who doesn't do much for me but it has been mildly cute to see him dealing with a few fox paws - such as the face he pulled earlier tonight when after appearing to speak for about 20 seconds he realised that his voice was obviously not broadcasting (cut straight to ads). But I think it will be a case of reaching for the mute button whenever Montgomery gets started!

Shit he f.cked it up whilst finish of twins race, and then saying the mens pairs were in a challenging position, even though they were unsited on the screen,we couldn't see,but they seemed like close for 3rd,when miles away.

Also Toni Street wtf with some inane questions, asking Mahe if he was ok.Asking Valerie how she felt, and then got brushed off by Phelps when asking what should kiwi kids do if they want to be good swimmers,he almost wanted to reply, help if they can swim.

That inept fuckwit was past his use by date in 1986 when he appeared on the America's Cup scene in Fremantle!

He knows fuck all about boats!

Oh my God yes. Perhaps we could run a poll to see who we want to get rid of most.

Glad you mentioned it, first time I've heard the bloke, what a load of poo. I kept saying to her indoors, is this bloke watching the same bloody boat race as me. My dog could howl a better commentary. A huge occasion for the kiwis and some blind and or deaf idiot is ruining it by jabbering a load of incorrect BS and tired cliches.

We stopped listening to the idiot and carried on with our synchronized sofa rowing in time with the twins.

Would like to see you guys have a go.
He could make a game of chess exicting.
So he makes a few mistakes,I guess you are perfect?
Typical kiwi tall poppy attitude.

Not sure if it was the same day but...

I caught a bit of an equestrian event. Now I am not one for the horses really, but something about seeing how much submission the horses have to their riders impresses me in the equestrian events.

There were 2 commentators, one male, one female. I about fell off my chair laughing at what they were saying. The capper for me was the woman who insisted on counting out loud the number of steps the horse took in each movement. Seriously, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...15.

Turn the stupid thing off. I find TV increasingly infuriating, and I won't let it happen.

Time to start a new project.

wtf PJ is an absolute legend,
Leg-end. An ankle. 3 feet lower than a cu*t.

So he makes a few mistakes...
Only a "few"...
At least Peter Lester has a clue.

I don't think they commentary has been that bad, but the "interviewing" after the events.....

My favourite moment of the games so far: Ben Fouhy's sense of humour failure.

Q: What went wrong?
BF: Well anyone with eyes could see that his boat was over there and mine was back there. It's kind of hard to win if the other boat's in front of you.

I don't think he ever had one.

Imagine Ben Fuohy in one of the "We love to boogie" meat ads!

I use to think that as well. But he does add some humour to his commentaries.

I don't often listen to Michal Laws but he was bitching about the Olympic commentary on Monday. Some relevent comments some not. One guy had a go at him over this. Laws just abused the guy and then hung up. I've heard this from him before when someone criticises him for his opinion.

Might do him some good, Sarah Ulmer seems to have a deep well of infectious enthusiasm.

I'd always be enthusiastic about Sarah Ulmer's deep well, infectious or otherwise.
