Hi All.
Check out the new rules from MNZ, Note the new tyre width rule for Pro Twin!!!
Lots of reading here. http://www.motorcyclingnz.co.nz/download/2008_July_Summary_of_Rule_Changes.pdf

Glad to see they have also clarified the lap timer issue.

Cheers

A wee bit off track, but still to do with the new rules....

I am curious, going by Appendix A 30-2-3, and Appendix C Rule 12 a, are they going to disqualify all the bikes running a/m ECU's. Cos basically all A/M empro's etc all have basic traction control (albeit not done by wheel speed sensors, but by rpm algorithms), that differ slightly from the std ecu's.
As far as I know the big 4 this year all have bikes with systems they claim are not traction control, yet with the addition of an A/M ECU they can be used effectively to limit wheel spin. Easiest example is the GSXR1000 with its mode select switch.
Personally I don't care if someone is using the t/c in its current state (no wheel speed sensors), if they are smart enough to know how to use it as an advantage, good on them. I am interested to know what people think about this, or if there are any counter arguments.
