The Lone Rider

Well.. blew a battery.
According to my maintenance manual, across the terminals of the volt reg rec the resistance is suppose to be from 500 - 10k
It is not. So in comes new reg rec - there are several websites that say the have one for my bike - 1994 VF750C
I phoned budget spares in ChCH today, they said they have one... however it is labeled as a reg rec for a VF750F. They assure me it is all the same
The only visable difference is needing to change around the plugs to fit my bike - put on the plugs from old rec
And the place where the bolts screw on are raised (good thing in my opinion.. I had to get a lady friend to undo it for me as my hands are too big to get into the small area)
And the new reg rec has an extra "black" wire that budget spare says doesnt matter - just don't connect it to anything when changing the plugs.
Lastly.. when I test the resistance on the new reg rec... well I set my multimeter to 2000K which is suppose to be in a resolution of 1kOhm... and multimeter gives the 1 notice - meaning it's over the measurable amount it is set to. I suppose the 2000k means it can measure up to 2000k max.. and the resistances are up to 10kOhms
Anyway.. any advice and what not would be helpful.
The sooner I get the bike going, the sooner I can score with this chick in Ashburton.. er I mean ride to Ashburton.
Attached is photo.. left is new, right is old.
