2008 Daelim Roadwin 125R - $4495

Electronic fuel injection, liquid cooled, single cylinder 125cc, fully faired or naked available, grrreat styling, distributed, supported, and warranteed by Triumph NZ, attractive 675/R6 ish styling.

There are only a few in the country at the moment, "to allow Triumph NZ to evaluate it's performance both in the field of reliability and customer enquiry" and I am told "In both cases it appears to be doing quite well."

Not as much boogie as a GT250R, but a great gap filler for those who need a lightweight bike, or a styley across-town commuter. So easy to start and manage the engine on those cold mornings with the EFI.

I quite like it. So does my 14y/o daughter.

Those fairings look like two dollar shop RC car plastic.

Nevertheless, good cheap starter, I wouldn't buy one though.

Daelim is South Korean.

They used to make lots of rebadged Hondas under licence due to the SK dislike for Japanese products.

It looks great! If it was Japanese or european it would be welcomed with open arms but being Chinese there is always that "?" hanging over it.

Is the price a little steep for 125cc of an unknown brand? It's up there with the Honda and more expensive than a scorpio... hmmm...

Doesn't look like either of the 675 or R6, however there are quite obvious styling hints taken from the RC51/VTR1000 SP1/2

Yeah, but the bloody great "DAELIM" across the bottom of the fairing does tend to give it away. If these things take off, there'll be a surge in sales of red spray cans.

Looks like a nice bike. I riode a few like that including SK150 off road on road bikes. i think they have the same eng...
They were not toooo bad to ride.
nice and light and quite fast lol.
Looking forward to seeing future reports on it as next year I have to buy 2 bikes for the boys when they get their licence.

If these things take off, there'll be a surge in sales of red spray cans.My bet is, the name is stick-on vinyl, and it will pick right off once warmed with the hair dryer. Often people pick the "250" off the side of the Hyo's.

It's not much more $$ than a scorpio, but it looks much more bike.

CBR wins hand hand hands down.
Im yet to see one on the road which is quite disppointing, they are a very well finished bike.

Often people pick the "250" off the side of the Hyo's.

No :gob:. Why, that would almost as dishonest as adding a "1" in front of the "225" on my bike :eek5:.

I'm sure right about them being transfers. All the detailing on the Scorpio is done that way.

Oh, and I agree the Daelims at that price would be a tough sell when lined up against the Honda CBR125R R RR..err I'm not sure how many R's it has.

Not really, no? The axle on my 250RS is thinner than that, and there's probably more stress put on it with the weak flexible forks.

You gotta be kidding me. If that's 675-ish I'm the pope. Attractive, not by any imaginable definition of the word.

Chinese sports tourer? Adventure bike for sealed roads is more like it. The adventure being you never know where you'll break down. Then there's the adventure of trying to get replacement parts...
It being Korean is of course heaps better, but if there are comparable japanese models there really is no competition.

There's plenty of nice japanese 125 commuter bikes out there - with decent styling, good reliability and a well organised spare parts infrastructure.
There's money worth saving and then there's money not worth saving - saving $500 by buying that abomination instead of a CBR125 or similar would belong to the latter category.

Yeah, pay the extra $500 for the honda or for a bit more again you can go for the new 250's.

ah well, theres my answer. If it was 2 grand cheaper then yeah, but otherwise go for the CBR.
