Popped into Cycletreads last week to pick up some fork oil for a mate to prepare for replacing his fork seal.

Had no idea what I was after, pottered around the shop for a few minutes, pretending to know what I was looking at, when they asked if I needed any help.

The guy (mid-20's) looked up in his little book at how much oil I needed per fork, came out to 508mls per fork, and we were planning on doing both forks.

"Not a problem" says the man, here's the 1L of oil you can buy, and he presented me with another 20mls from their workshop drum in a bottle for that extra little bit, so we don't need to buy another Litre.

Was stoked. Awesome service, really helpful staff, they have now gained a customer for as long as I continue to live in Auckland.

Popped in again this morning, after the same guy sold me on a set of new tyres. Dropped the bike in at 9.30, they started replacing both tyres, when they noticed the chain was knackered. Replaced that too.

Was all done by 10.30 while I pottered around the shop.
$510 for two new Bridgestone BT-45's, a new chain, and some chain lube. Not too bad by the looks of prices elsewhere. And bloody quick.

They gave me a run down as to the best way of scrubbing in new tyres (it's my first new set ever), and I left. Really happy.

Thought I may share a positive experience with Bike shops, as far too often there is much moaning, and groaning, but no praise. Thank you Cycletreads. You'll be seeing me far more frequently!

Shows how much I know about anything really. Just as well someone was there to do it for me.

Glad you finally got off the Shitkos, mate.

Did you see the note on the wall -

"New tyres on bikes need to be scrubbed in so you should be careful on them, however if you choose to ignore this warning we do stock after market mirrors, indicators, brake/clutch levers and pegs!"

Another + for Cycletreads - I got me a rear BT45 Battlax fitted there, apparently the usual RRP for the tyre is $280.00, I got the tyre and a new valve for the wheel for $209.00 :)

mmm sounds like a ride might be in order to scrub in the new tyres!

I've found them to be good too. "No, we won't let you fit your intercom system into your Nolan helmet, we want the job done properly" (Fitted free)

Good specials when you join the VIP scheme too.

Same when we got our Blueant intercoms. Fitted and set up for free. HAd good service from them and although Lindsay isn't there anymore, (unless he's come back), I'll still recommend them!

Nah he hasn't, and from what I've heard I don't think he will, unless he is really unhappy with his new job.

And cycletread customers (staff too, actually).. can you take your burnouts elsewhere?

Haha! Good memorys..

Cycletreads is a bloody brilliant place, ontop of the excellent customer service, they've got heaps in stock aswell.

Had the exact tyres i was wanting and a not-so-common battery just sitting out the back, was very happy.

Also, when I was buying a helmet from them, they didn't have the size I wanted in the same style, so they ordered it in. Told me it'd take 2-3 days. And it actually took *2-3 days*. And they actually rang me to tell me that it came in! Now this may not seem like a big deal.. but after dealing with a variety of other bike shops, I have found this to be a very big deal indeed..

We assume it was this dick who smashed one of our windows http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2_0FBZMfKY

And you havn't had to clean any of it up. Burnouts and such are great.. but do it in your own area.

Big +1 from me too, top guys, good advice and never rip you off. Good old fashioned honest service, often hard to find nowadays. Good on you and keep it up. I'm off there tomorrow for my Pilot Road 2's - easily had the best deal i could find, dunno why i bothered ringing around:clap:
