Assuming, that there are any bikes/riders left in the greater Ak area this weekend:eek: , Is anyone interested in doing a quick blat over to Whitianga and over "the Hill "to Coromandel this Sunday ? Weather permitting I will be leaving the top of bombays at approx, Yes approx, (this allows for "Semi Punctual riders) at 10.20 hours Sunday morning:eek:

A tentative affirmative - barring any major development on the domestic front, and of course dependent on the vagaries of the weather.

In other words, yes!

Well apparently the weather is going to be decent:
Auckland Region - 17° High for Sat/Sun .... but since when did we trust the weatherman eh ;)

Hey Affman, try this line:

"To celebrate Father's Day is to give in to crass commercialism and thereby to encourage cynical exploitation of hapless consumers.
Who invented Mother's Day and Father's Day?
American department store owners.
Why?
Because they had become obscenely wealthy by exploiting Christmas, Easter and other solemn occasions, and wanted to add to this wealth by inventing another excuse for pointless gift-giving.
It is morally reprehensible to condone such cynical behaviour. As a mark of respect for you, Dad, and to show that I will not tolerate your being exploited in this way, I am going to ignore Father's Day completely."

Well Aff-man, why not celebrate it in the evening with a family dinner.:o

Seems silly to celebrate during the middle of the day as it means the whole day is wasted, um....unuseable for anything else.

Surely other family members have a life and other things to do as well.?

I will presume that if the weather on Sunday is
as today the ride is on,

Got back a little while ago and now relaxing with a beer (home-brewed, of course) after a great ride despite a bit of rain and some slippery roads.
Thanks to Dave for organizing the ride and to Andrew and John for their company.

Yes it was a good ride. A little wet for me at times but all good:D

As usual firefight, mikel and andrew proved hard to catch but as always ended up together.

I would like to do this route again in the warmer time of year as great rodes but was a bit cautious with the rain.:(

I will sleep well tonight, thanks to the others for a good day.

If i can make it next time I will - I've got a place in Whitianga right on the beach front road - have often sat on the deck watching bikes going past - now I've got a decent one I wouldn't mind joining in - we can stop at the house for coffee etc.....

Antallica

Well im still checking dates, i was gonig to organise the KB Donation Ride Out for October 5th or there abouts (if thats the saturday) but there is a manfield meet then so it seems the turnout wouldnt be as good (need ur company Si, Racey and Mitch) so ill keep checking dates etc and see where it leads us, im looking for as much planned time in advanced as possible and a backup week if it rains out.

KK's right just turn up dude! I've been on that ride when I had my 150 and maybe it wasn't spent riding with the front bunch. But thats not the whole idea of the ride, so get out there and feel welcome, I did!!

Antallica, dude you're starting to sound just like KK and when he is going racing, excuses, excuses. :o

Just get out there and ride! No one cares what you ride, how fast you ride, or any other silly thing.

We have a great time getting there and back together and a nice stop for lunch chatting about rides, roads, and bikes. :D

No pressure nor attitudes.

Ant... thats piss poor excuse!! If she's worth keeping, she'll let you go on some weekend rides! If she's spitting the dummy about you going riding, do you REALLY want a long term relationship with someone trying to shut you out of your hobby? the g/f has to understand that bikes are important to you (mine does and it makes everything SO much easier!)

Antallica
10th September 2003, 14:49
Ahh it was my fault anyway, I had promised her some time ages before then.

Besides, I'm too shit lazy to do a 164km ride then do a casual ride followed by another 164km tip home....... ahh one day ;)

MikeL
10th September 2003, 15:16
Fair enough. Coming from Whangarei, you would have put in close to 700ks by the time you got home. A long day. You're excused this time.

right, well I think its high time Antallica organised a ride up north somewhere and we can meet in the middle.

Antallica
10th September 2003, 23:12
Too right CK, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Something around the Waipu area again or something different that's not too much out of your guys way.

Otherwise, I have my grandparents out at Whangaparoa so I'll just ride there on a Friday/Sat, stay there a night and I'll jump on the motorway and meet you guys for the KB rides :)

Firefight
11th September 2003, 18:55
Hey Ant, not that keen on northland, but would head up if you organise a bit of a ride:eek:

north of Dargaville through the forest with the big Kauri trees is a good ride, pity its such a drag riding to Dargaville first! (very long straight roads)

otherwise going north over the Brenderwyns then through Waipu, Langs Beach then Mangawhai is always a bit of fun.
