My CBR600 is currently wearing a set of Shitkos (ok don't give me shit I bought it with them). So a few weeks ago after KB some research / discussions with others (and recommendation from Kiwi Graham, chees mate) i decided on a set of Michie Road 2's.

But it's been a few weeks and my scoot is still sporting the Shitkos and i continue to porcrastinate about changing em??

WHY??:weird:

Well i decided in my wisdom to wait for a nice dry day to get my lazy arse to Cycletreads for my new rubber. Have i had one on my days off work? Have i bollox. I thought it would be a good idea to get them in the dry to scrub em in nice........
Still no dry day so gonna just go and get em.

Surely its better to have good new tryes in the wet than shitty old ones?? Or do i wait for an hours sunshine?? To give em a good scrub i'll have to give the bike a good few hours run round some twisties to get the sides well scrubbed too, shouldn't be too bad in the wet aslong as i take it easy. This must be less risky than staying on my current rubber, which aren't completely shot, just shit!!

Decisions, decisions

I just had Conti tacs fitted, no dry weather, but Just take it easy they'll scrub in. Michi R2's are good tyres.

I know, dunno why i'm been such a pussy - been riding 15 years and don't know why i'm bothered about the wet. Suppose its just an excuse to be fooked off with this pissy weather

Wot smoky said mate. Better to have decent tyres than shit tyres wet or dry. I agree you going to have to tread (no pun intended) carefully if scrubbing in on wet roads but it wont take long. Get the buggers fitted and we'll get out and get the job done :msn-wink:

Finally got my arse into gear today. Weather was changable and rained all the way to Cycletreads (good on em again, easily the best price and service for my new rubber) - so in she went for her new shoes. Well f**k me, came out half an hour later to bright sunshine, obviously him upstairs was thinking "at last my boy you got rid of the Shitkos, heres some sunshine for you to scrub in those new Pilot Road 2's", so off I went to find some twisties.

Unbelievable feel to the bike, tyres are awesome, feel great loads of grip and heaps more confidence. So 2 hours riding, new scrubbed in tyres - could things get any better, perfect day............................................... ...........
