Here it is.Mrs jatz's new ride

Got it of trademe Monday and rode home Sat/Sun. She rode Saturday afternoon to Kaikoura, I rode from there to home today in the rain(she doesn't do rain)

If I'd known you were going down marks I would've taken a day of work and come down then and had some company for the ride back

FFS I can't embed images, bear with me while I sort out technical dificulties (with a fckn big hammer probly)

Why, yes it did.
Worth thier weight in gold too I'm told.
Also got a couple of front gaurds, spare front sprocket, indicators and original hand gaurds. and a couple of manuals.
We got a r/h side one, not pristine but the guy we got the bike off used it for rough trail rides
You'll definitly see it down your way over the summer

I highsided one of those once at 75km/h on the seal.
Twenty years ago, my back still hurts sometimes..

Like hell he did - that looks like it just came out of a time machine - from the year it was born. That is one very tidy looking old beasty. Well done on finding and scoring it! Go the Tenere's!

Nice one - we should have the Canty crew out and doing a bit more riding by then.

Cheers R

It looks better in the photos, the tank has a few dents which need getting out, and I'd like to have it re-sprayed at the same time.
Any body know how to get dents out of a steel tank ?
The seller certainly presented the bike in showroom condition

wow how big is that tank?

Tanks supposed to be 24l, supposed to get about 450ks from it

Wish I could get that sort of fuel range out of mine. Then again it's been tweaked a bit and I haven't done a decent road ride to test the fuel range.
I also have a bit of a bonus over yours as it's got an Acerbis plastic tank.So I lose a bit of weight and have less worry about denting it.
Still,I'm quite impressed at how good yours looks. If that had come up a year earlier,I would probably own it :D

My XTZ has a couple of dents in the tank (nothing serious) as well so if you do come up with a way of doing it I'd like to hear about it. The guy I brought it off works for a panel beaters here in Chch and he reckoned it would be pretty hard to do given the thickness of the steel (thicker than body panels?) and cause the dents are across the original bends in the tank.

if you can find an old-school panel beater he might be able to blow it for you :eek5: the only thing is it might be a slightly differant shape but all the dents would be gone

I have to agree with R looks like the old owner used it to :scooter: up & down a metal drive way with some pot holes

a very nice score, look forward catching up again for another :ride:
