I know there are a lot more members in Southland than just McJim and I. So we've created a group and invite members to join. That way we can contact each other when there is something on, like rallies, rides, help out etc.

Yeah McJim and I intend to keep an eye on the Otago rides but things slip by. We both have children which restrain spontaneous trips a bit. :D

Not to mention that when you have children and the opportunity arises to go for a ride the old "Be back in an hour" doesn't really allow you to get as far as Otago.:rofl:I have also been looking at the Big River Bikers to see if they ever come down here on a day when I have time to ride.

Alas that falls during the time before my last day. Given the length of the working day I need the weekends so I can remember what my children look like.
Life will begin after 26th September  Until then my life remains on hold :(

I'm planning on heading up to PP if weather clears up!!! Would like people to ride with, I'm a bit short of experience in riding in groups! I like the whole rode to myself as others who have ridden with me will know!
McJim, has Christine got a new bike yet?

Sadly not yet love, going to rest my weary body for a bit. Will be back on two wheels in the not too distant future. McJim has great plans of getting me back on the Duchess but I dunno bout that.
Hope you have an awesome ride (weather permitting!)

Crikey - there are loads of riders up in Tasman. you can even get a Mentor up that way. (Nearest KB Mentor to Southland is 2 hours hard riding away.)
Is it just me or have there been a few people that have mistaken Southland for Southern or South Island? Just looking at the membership for the group and seeing a coupla northeners from Dunedin or thereabouts

Big loads of riders headed south past Chez Scumdog today at about 10-11am and then headed back up the road late afternoon, they SEEMED to have been coming from the Catlins direction when I saw then, may well have been coming back up from Southland region - any idea who/what they were?? (like what riding group?)

Delhpinus was down that route today.Would have been around that time too. I wonder who else was with him? I went out for a ride - was gonna meet them but got as far as Mataura and turned back for a number of reasons (bike pissing oil, Jez had woken up and wanted to come out for a blat, Wife wanted me to have a picnic with the family etc.)
I need a new gasket for the left hand engine casing.

Good route Jez, I tend to forget about Western Southland but there are good roads over there.
In the meantime sounds like we need to get a few tubes of araldite around to McJim to seal up that oil leak. :D
