A swimming lesson
This round being the long track I was a little bit nervous :calm: about how I would go having only ever done the extension once before. But I was also looking forward to a change in track though.
Getting to the track nice early I was trying to decide to which tyres to run. After taking a good look at the track condition and the weather I decided to that it wasn't wet enough for wets. So took my wets off that were on from last round.
Scrub in quickly changed my mind and I quickly changed back for qualifying :argh:. Qualifying went not too bad but I struggled to get my head round going fast though the extension. Still I was fairly happy with my result.
Race 1:
Lining up on the grid for the race thinking the marshals would help us line up as per last round. With half the people at the back not ready the lights changed and it was all go. I got to the 1st corner in about dead last I think. I managed to pass about 4-5 people round the outside and then tried to catch up with the rest of the field. All was going well for the 1st couple laps then with the increasing depth of the water I was really struggling to get any traction at all and ended up just putting round the last couple laps to finish 2nd to last. Also wasn't impressed at all with the white lines on the front straight (Seems like a major safety hazard - Surely Manfeild can get some gritty paint!!!)
After this the day was cancelled which was unfortunate but I think it was the right decision judging from the amount of surface water around. At one point on the track I got passed by someone then was then total covered in water. Thanks to all the marshals and the organisers for sticking out in the horrible weather :2thumbsup. Hopefully the next round is dry :sunny: and we can have some good racing.
