As I dont often ride a scooter, only when the alternative could mean a long walk. Budget being the main reason for scooter use... isn't it. About time a thread started on scooters benefits in this day and age. Convert me if you can. Green bling to those that make me laugh...
I found a photo that gave me a giggle... has possibilities...

Riding a scooter is like having sex with a really fat woman. Heaps of fun but you wouldn't want your mates to catch you doing it.

But seriously, they are heaps of fun around town. Zippy.

I love my scooter :scooter: - so much fun, also so much less frustrating than the car for commuting around Auckland. I have had some blokes commenting on how good the scooter is and some that don't really think it is the same as a 'proper' bike. But I have had some very good comments from women, as well as having read about others who have found the same thing.

Of course mine with 400cc is also great for open road & motorway - but even a little 125 would be great around the city.

If anyone wants to look down on my ride because "it is only a scooter" then so what? It is not like I couldn't have gotten a "proper motorbike" for the $6500 the scooter cost me. I just didn't feel like buying what others would approve of rather than what was practical & fun. I ride what I like & I like what I ride!

$7000 for a new ninja 250! But yeah, power to you.

My scoot is a couple of years old - I could certainly have gone a few years older and gotten a reasonable 750 for $6500. But like I say - I went with what suited me, not what others might think I should get - I wasn't buying to impress anyone.
