Hi all
Picked up my baby from the bike shop today.. gotta say SPV in Dunedin looked after me really well, totally impressed with their service.
Had a good fun day of riding around back streets etc and starting to feel like I'm getting the hang of it. Really need to work on hill starts (as I live on a big one!) and cornering a bit faster, still a bit nervous on the corners.. but I think I did ok for my first day!
Ninja is an awesome bike, although I do spend a lot of time worrying about scratching the brand new paint job!
So hoping we'll get a few more nice days down here in Dunedin so I can get out there and get some practice in - today was great! If there's any other newbies in Dunedin who want to come for a slow ride around some quiet streets this weekend, let me know!

Nice bike. Also nice gear too. Are the leathers comfortable to wear as well, they certainly don't look as bulky as condura jackets.

Yeah, leathers are fantastic.. I can't speak highly enough about them - worth every cent and give you confidence just incase the worst does happen.
Only thing is my gloves are rubbing a little, but jacket/pants are awesome.

I spoke to the guy at spectrum today, apparently the shipment of blue ones was a cock up. :P Either they sent them accidentally or they ran out of green ones and had to send blue or something.
Should be one of the main colours I reckon!

Cool.... hopefully they don't bring any more shipments in.. will make mine worth more!! :p Just can't damage it, might make it hard to get parts!! I definitely recon the blue is the best looking one anyway, they should definitely keep bringing them in.

Like to hear your comment on the mirrors and how well you can see out of them while riding?.

Yeah, I saw there was another thread about that on here. Personally I don't think the mirrors are fantastic, I do find myself having to move my arm up a bit from my normal riding position to be able to see behind me well. But having said that, it's the only road bike I've ever ridden so don't really have anything to compare it to... I basically just figured they're all like that.
I do, however, keep looking up to see behind me (used to car rear-vision mirror) - gotta get out of that habbit!

Dont worry about rushing into going faster you've got years of biking ahead to do that!
Just go at the pace you are comfortable with and speed and cornering will come with time- you woudnt want to lay such a good looking bike on its side:niceone:

I find myself doing the same every time I drive the car for a while then get back to the scoot. Over the last few days I have driven over 900kms in the car and then I go for a ride this morning - the first thing I notice when I look up and to the left is that there is no mirror there.

Yep.. I also find myself leaning in to corners in the car... doesn't have quite so much effect as on the bike!

I heard the other day that blue is the new green. That's right, kawaski are not doing the green and instead are doing the blue. Really nice blue though. Which pisses the wife off, since she ended up getting a green one a few months ago but her fav colour is blue!
LOL you should have seen her face when she saw it in the bike shop! I left cause I didn't want to be stabbed! Apparently no one new they were getting them.
Have fun dude
