(With apologies to the Yamaha ad team....)

What's the best way from Glenview to Hillcrest on a day like today? (7km)

Take SH3 south to Ohaupo. Turn east through Kaipaki.....enjoy this section of the commute - low traffic volume, some great straights and some great wide bends as well. Turn left to Cambridge. Pootle carefully north on SH1 back to Hammerstown, watching all the time for loony drivers......this brings you into Hillcrest in a mere 40 minutes (or less if you hoon it - which I NEVER do of course....:nono:.....), refreshed, elated and glad to be alive.........:2thumbsup

Take 2:

Today we take a different route - we need gas, so we pootle up to Gull to partake of their Force 10 blend. Then, since the sun shineth again, we go north up Te Rapa, cross the river via the Pukete Bridge and proceed north up River Road to Narrow wokia......thence north up SH1 to Taupiri, turning south again via Gordonton and back to Hamilton.......nice sweepy bendy roads to lay into at moderate highway speeds and a couple of opportunities to scream past three cars in a row on some of the shorter straights - returning, of course, to the legal limit ASAP..........:innocent: And thence to work for the rest of the day...

So, they shouldn't ask SV riders for directions either, huh. Thought it was just us Yamaha riders.

I admit it - I have blatantly ripped off the Yammie ad (see first post)......but now I understand it....hehehehehe

I know - I saw - I merely completed the ripping off by including the punchline.

I confess to frequently taking the less-than-most-direct route from Te Rapa to home just for the rapid left-right-left from Maeroa to Norton To Kent (pisses me off if there's too much traffic on Norton) and occasionally my "directions" from Killarney Road to Collins Road (or vice versa) have included "turn onto the dirt track that runs alongside the railway line..."
