Hello,

I am going to have a look at a 2006 Kawasaki 636 Ninja this weekend, as one has finally come along with the colours that I like. I don't know much about bikes but have my full license and have been riding fairly casually for about 2 years on a ZXR250C.

Is there anything special I should look for problem-wise, with this particular bike series? It's only a few years old so surely there shouldn't be that much wrong with it. Apart from riding it and noticing that it actually goes backwards when I apply throttle, I don't think I'd spot a problem anyway.

With 20,000kms on the clock, what would you think is a reasonable offering price for the bike given good condition?

Thanks.

Usual stuff, check servicing records or at least ensure oil changes have been done regular like.

See if she pops out of gear when loaded usually 2nd or 3rd.

Steering head bearing and fork seals both easy fixes but still cost $

Take a mate who knows something about the machine so he can listen and look at it with you

I had one and they are great bikes.

Hope it works out for you:2thumbsup

Most owners report that their Drivers licence is allergic to owning a 636. Made mine sick but not terminal luckily

Ive had a 636, the only problem was cam fretting, caused by not changing the oil regularly, cost a bundle to repair.
