Yeah, and the frame is really wide too - a little tip over might = write off.

They aren't intakes - they are the radiators.
They are mounted on either side of the engine to allow it (engine) to be mounted further forward in the chassis. They also swing out of the way for servicing.
Don't judge it till you see it in the flesh. They are not as prominent as in the photos.
IMO The 8 pot ZTL disk brake is fantastic. It provides similar performance to a GSXR setup but is 2.5kgs of unsprung weight lighter.

Yeah, and the frame is really wide too - a little tip over might = write off.
They are designed for minimal damage for minor tipovers. The XB crash pucks work really well at low speed - the radiators act as crumple zones too.

They look awsome. They must ride well too. Wouldn't mind test riding one eather.

The mirrors look like bunny ears, and like everything american (or american made better said, before those sex jokes will start rolling in) all is wide with a cornering tendecy of a pickup truck. My mate in the US had a test ride on it (how on earth he got his hands on er' I have no idea) and told me all in all a beautiful machine to ride and if you like the contrevercial looks would be anyones dream.

With this model, Buell is doing a Microsoft: Beta testing with real customers. Sloppy and unacceptable, particularly for a comparatively expensive motorcycle.

No they aren't. I've got to know some of the people there quite well.
Not what they are about at all.

They may be nice people, but this new bike has some significant shortcomings that the folks at Buell don't yet seem to have any answers to.

I haven't yet seen an attractive photo of the 1125r.
Looks ok in the flesh, but is ugly as sin on film.

Interesting, tell me more. Was talking online to a guy in the states that rode one and his comment was "i wont be trading the one i have in until they get it to live up to there advertisments".Personally i know nothing about them but follow there progress with interest.

Some of the 1125Rs are having a problem with throttle lag and poor EFI performance.
One of the Demos here was so effected. I've ridden it and it wasn't right.
Three test bikes I've flogged were sweet as a nut.
They have released several patches for it already.

I haven't been following closely - but it 'may' even have been sorted.
Certainly it's not the dominant topic on the board any more as it was for a while.

There's something disturbing about a naked bike with Side Boobs. A bit like finding Aunt Mathilda standing to pee.

Definately Cool. i like the look!! Photos do not do this bike any favours. You have to see it in the flesh, then when ya ride it you realise just how good this bike is.
