Hi, I'm a newby to this forum (and pretty new to motorbikes). I've got a 1989 Suzuki GSXR 250 also. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the dashboard-light is that has only Japanese characters on it (i.e. non English label)? It's the 2nd in from the left, and it's red (when on) and yes it's been flashing on at me at ~85km/h or above... Any takers?

My brothers got the same bike, and its a 'speed' light. Very useful for fuck all.

Great, thanks for that. I thought it probably was a speed warning - nothing bad seemed to happen, just an annoying dash-light. In that case I'll ignore it. Cheers, Richard.
