I don't how clever you think you are, over taking cars on the shoulder on the Hutt motorway is fucking stupid.
I never said this before but I hope some granny takes you out on an intersection. She'd be doing us all a favour.

There is nothing like a detail-less rant.
Without pictures, either.

Didn't get a good look. Look liked a gixxer. Some guy on what looked like an FZR400 was trying to keep up with him. Headed over your way.

Agreed, overtaking on the left is pretty stupid...
However, wishing hurt upon other people is beyond idiotic.

Details make all the difference.
If you're saying the traffic was moving at the speed limit and a rider blasted past down the hard shoulder, I'd agree that that was reckless. If your saying that in heavy slow moving congestion someone used the shoulder to pass, while I wouldn't do it myself, I wouldn't condemn the rider for that.
And if you're actually talking about SH2 north of Nauranga (not the motorway) and you saw someone using the shoulder to navigate past congestion due to the roadworks or where cars are merging into one lane, then there is a good chance you would see me doing it too.
Details make all the difference.

The cars shouldn't have been on the shoulder in the first place. I miss the Southern Motorway in Auckland. So much enjoyable aggro to be had from dumb cagers :Pokey:

Ha, that statement certainly lives up to your handle DB. Brilliant!
But isn't it that sort of attitude that gives us all a bad name amongst road users?

Some nutters on the coroloop today, who ever was on the Black ZX10, following the 1098, you're lucky to be alive pal. Overtaking me midcorner >_< sitting right next to my front wheel... Then I watched ya nearly clip the wing mirror of an oncoming car...

Details make all the difference.
Details make all the difference.
Then details you shall have.
I was cruising in a stream of traffic in the outside lane, a couple of k's south of Haywards. Doing about 110-120.
I glanced in my mirrors and saw these two bike coming up, lane splitting. I check my mirrors pretty often so I was a bit surprised to see them there.
The gixxer came past and slotted in front of me. The other bike stayed back. There were two lanes of cars travelling at about the same speed so there wasn't really any where to go but we were doing a reasonable speed so I wasn't bothered.
The gixxer then pulled across in front of me, nothing dodgy in that, but continued over onto the shoulder and then gunned it to get past a couple of cars in the inside lane. His mate followed though he seemed a bit hesitant. He then pulled back into the outside lane to pass a couple more cars. Don't know why, he was on the shoulder so he might as well have carried on.
Then he shot back across the lanes again to get into the left turn lane to go up Haywards.
They continued dodgy passing manoeuvres all the way until the inlet when I turned off. All the time he seemed to be egging his mate on to follow him.
It's not like the traffic was heavy, though the sun strike was pretty bad. I was able to keep up with them without any dumb shit.
Anything else you'd like to know?

No doubt there are some dumb riders about but the sentiment you have expressed is nothing short of callus. No biker should wish any biker taken out............... for any reason.

Sounds a bit like a couple of bikes I saw while going down SH1 tween Paekak and Pukerua Bay yesterday.(aka the road of death) they were squeezing past cars in the single lane stretch by riding right up against the cheesecutters....:gob:

Just don't seem to post in your circles. Good to see you are still alive. :jerry: Nothing pisses people off when you can prove them wrong. :Punk: Keep up the good work and ride like the Grim Reaper's up your arse, but only on the track becasue the day will come when he will overtake you on the road.

I got pulled over in Featherston on Sunday morning by a cop who was clearly there on the look out for bikes. We weren't doing anything dumb but he told us to behave any way.
Pretty soon it will be illegal to change or modify the exhaust system on your bike all because some idiots think it's cool to blast open pipes around the suburbs at 2 in the morning.
It recently became illegal to drink alcohol in public places in Wellington city all because some dick heads can't behave when they're drinking.
I could go on and on...
It's always the idiots that fuck it up for the rest of us.

I can sorta see what you're getting at and while I'm an ummmm
enthusiastic(?) imbiber, it has never been an ambition of mine to drink from a brown paper bag in the Cuba Mall or in Pigeon Park...
The continued erosion of our "human rights" in this country does concern me, but that small loss of liberty caused by the behaviour of a few concerns me very little.

But its really the lazy arse unimaginative fucktard polititions and law makers that screw us over. By making new laws because the old ones are enforced.

Hell man, you're welcome to it!!! (was your rofl relating to that comment :msn-wink:). Russian roulette on wheels. Sat night coming home on the motorway about 10 o'clock had two cars (separate events) almost pull into the left side of my car; then a whiles later as i drove through manukau i passed through the checkpoint which netted over 200 over -the- limit drivers that night. Just another fun night on the roads in Orks.

I'm so sick of this happening but we don't help ourselves, we let the pollies walk all over our rights and freedoms. And I've seen plenty of posts on this site that would actively encourage them!!
