Shit what an awesome day. Perfect weather for a ride and bugger all people off the main trails. Think they broke there record today with over 300 people. Hey Reckless think you were parked just up from us, went to say hi at the end of the day but you were just heading out for another ride. My body very tired now and cant wait for bed.

Yeah man was all good today. Car parks were full as, had a look when ridin past but couldn't see anyone's rides. But yeah hardly anyone on the blues & reds, kinda surprising. I'm leaning right back and getting some air on the whoops now, sweet :). Same amount of misc slow speed crashes tho haha.

320 riders I heard.
The guys have been putting in lots of new tracks, some real tight ones that have me thinking of trading in the RM250 and getting something smaller like an SX150. Only problem is that only the 200EXC or a 125EXC have the wide ratio box with the small motor.
Nice work to all the track makers. Had fun out there on Friday.

I bet your using a water blaster. They tend to just blow the sand around. I find a quick squirt with the hose, a spray of Dynamo, another squirt and a dry and she is done as far as cleaning sand and any dirt goes. Heck I only bother doing that even if I have some maintenance planed like an oil change, other wise the sand thats on the bikes stays on until the next ride. I find I can go many rides without even needing to wash the bike after riding in the sand unless I've been riding in mud as well.

Nah gave up on water blaster years. Was doing an oil change and as it was a sunny day thought id clean it properly just got pissed that after all that time cleaning oil change etc etc put it away and walked back in garage later and spotted more sand. Just part of riding in sand i guess.

We where there from 11 till 4 or so. Jeepers it was packed couldn't find any of you guys. Just time to clean the bikes at home before dark. Was a good day. Found some quite good flowing blue and red tracks way out back. That bloody hill on the red track off the convict was a laugh got stuck first time up. Then later did a monster arse off the the bike completely flipping over me in the super bowl as well. No injuries and no breakages though. Later in the day when getting tired, tried the big dipper, the sand was just to soft and by the time id pulled the bike out I was stuffed. I like the woods trails but that soft deep sand sucks!
Hope this weather keeps up can't wait to get some clay under the wheels!
Did any guys go to ThunderX whats it like??

Yes I would agree the Sand Pit is getter better every time I go.
Went there on Sat for about 4 hours. The combinations of tracks are just perfect. Fast flowing to tight single track.
Really enjoyed the Criminal and Wood Chopper tracks.
On the fast flowing ones you can get up some serious speed……all those trees flicking by make you think this will not be flash if it goes pear shaped, but then it’s just to much fun to slow down.
Big thumbs’ up to the guys at the Sand Pit. You guys have put a lot of effort into this place and it just gets better and better.

Ah yes. But I always have it in the back of my head that what goes around comes around.
Was a bloody good shot though.;)
We GPS ed the tracks again on Saturday with the exception of the freshly skidded tracks and its really quite a marked difference even from 6 months ago.
Still, looking at the amount of spare area still to be utilised I reckon 6 tracks a year and we may be finished in 5 years.:sweatdrop

Hit it with some momentum and keep it pinned its the middle of winter and the sand is good. I have no problems getting up there in Summer when the sand IS soft on the 200.

Was the tired end of the day you know when the bike steps out and you think oh shit, where earlier is just fun when it does that! I think the rider lacked 100% commitment by that time. And my son went first and by the time he got stuck and dug a few big holes out, I couldn't make it past that spot. My other mate tried on the 200 who had made it through first on his 450 Husaberg and couldn't do it either. I'll be back though, do it earlier and first next time. Its on my list of lifes challenges now!
Secondly the two bikes feel pretty much the same. I left the newer one how I got it to see how different it was. It had just come out of the shop ( I got the receipt) so it was set up factory. Now I'll fit a gripper seat cover, back off the power valve a fraction, new tyres (they are rooted) and fit bar risers and it will be how we like them.
Hit it with some momentum and keep it pinned its the middle of winter and the sand is good. I have no problems getting up there in Summer when the sand IS soft on the 200.
I'd trade 1/2 my horse power for 10% of your experience mate!! LOL! Show off!

my technique for the dipper is 3rd gearshitloads of throttle, as much momentum as you can get, and shitloads of clutch if you need to.
if you stop your fucked. lol

He originally was going to upgrade to an RM250 like mine, but even I have found that the 200 is better in the tighter trails now at the bike park. He rode a lot of bikes in the past month including four strokes, KTM250's etc and decided that the 200 was better for him. You would also be better on one Cheese in my opinion.

pfffftttt I love my CR.
In about 5 -10 years when I upgrade I'll probably look at one.
Is that guy the guy with teh CR that we both met at woodhill that day and went riding with? I think that he had a 05?
Danger
4th September 2008, 09:06
No that was Richard. While we texted and called each other many times about a ride we never met up again. I wonder if he is still riding? But this guy also had an '05. After riding so many bikes in the past month his comment was that he realised just how good his CR250 was. He sold it last week.

Actually this friend just picked up his new '09 300EXC, we were up riding at the Sandpit again today. So some of the new '09 KTM's are here. I believe this was only the 2nd '09 300EXC in the country to date.
