Anyone here doing professional video editing on a PC? I need some advice regarding importing video from a DVD.
I use Liquid Edition 5.5 and can capture digital video through Firewire or analogue through composite or Y/C via breakout box. What I can't do is capture or import digitally direct from a DVD. It appears it can't be done digitally as a video stream in the Capture Tool. There is an option to Import Media as a file, but it only supports certain file extensions, and not the VOB that my DVD files have. Is it possible to convert these files to .dif/.dv/.avi./m2v or whatever?
If so, how? Is there a size limitation?
Any help would be appreciated.

Gordian Knot http://gordianknot.sourceforge.net can do it too, and it's free.
I recommend XviD for encoding the videos: http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml

Or if you just want the vob files off the dvd, maybe just use http://www.dvddecrypter.com/
