well I went out for a short ride to drain the tank, and saw antallica on a scoot so I turned around to see what was going on, he pulled afew cheaky wheelies, so I though right here we go - after a quick chat we head down the road, me with the front wheel up 45deg which surprised me.
so I thought, ok I'll bring the front down now - only to hit a damn man hole cover/or some 'hump', my back end jumped and I lost it (my feet came off my pegs) I tried deperatly to slow it down while trying to regain control, but I was heading towards a kerb so I decided to drop it on its side, me with no gloves on only with jeans and my riding jacket with some shoes (dumbass I know).
so my injuries are, some gravel rash on my hands, a hole in my knee (might get that bad boy checked) and a torn ligament in my lower leg, which makes it fooken hard to walk, as I cant move my ankle properly - hope it doesnt keep me off the bike to long :disapint:
well anyway, thanks to antallica for all his help I owe him a few , and he checked up on me even so yea, would ride with him anyday..
well at least it was a nice wheelie!! :shifty:
but now I havto streetfighter my ZZR as the plastic damage is just not worth my time or money, can anyone help me with brackets etc ? cheers.
keep riding :ride:

Yeah, dumb kids - in my day we didn't do stupid things like that...we were born with maturity beyond our years, rode our bikes sensibly and wore the best motorcycling gear money could buy - nylon parkas, jeans and sneakers. So I have no idea at all of the humiliation and pain you are going through, and have never seen my bike damaged.I don't know about you young guys, you'll probably never learn :innocent:
Get youself mended up and then down to Mitre 10 and ask the nice young man for some bog to fix your fairings.

That sucks mate, even though you did pull a good wheelie. I'd LOVE to have a ride on my old 250 and see if I can wheelie it. I tried a few times, but only succeeded slightly on my full licence test.
Heal up soon, and hope the bike gets sorted.
Dave.

Personally I think that all true riders at some stage have had something like that happen at some stage. Those who say that they have not are either telling porkies or don't actually know how to ride hard. :shit:

I don't actually know how to ride hard.
Only time I do, it eventually goes soft again :confused2 .
Actually (true to the thread) most of us ride insufficiently protected at times but hopefully (fortunately) those of us who push the boundaries at those times are few and far between. Riding hard or theatrically may be localised fun but nothing can beat the sustain of being able to ride free of lasting injuries that would compromise our ongoing pleasure. The reason God made orgasms such a short-lived experience is a completely different matter!

Bad luck on the bin bro, hope that you might wear full gear next time though, bear in mind i stepped off the back of my TL at close to 200kph and walked away with only two broken hands, which is pretty good i reckon, almost sounds like you got off worse, but then again maybe we should compare bikes and see which is worse :confused2
On another note, wheelie a ZZR250, respect is due, the poor clutch

Apparently my gsx1100g shafty tourer, heavy as hell, will do a smoking wheelie if I were to rev her up to 9k and drop clutch in 1st. Will I give it a go? Not bloody likely!!!

Thanks mate. I probably wouldn't subject your bike to the possible torture I could inflict :scooter: I'm still a "Learner Wheelier". Thanks for the offer though :)

Not bloody likely!!!Feel the same way about wheelies on "Roxanne" I've only had the front wheel off the ground twice. Both powering up going over a raise in the road (back wheel left the ground as well one of the times going over one of the Kawakawa bridges). The only true wheelie I've done was on the little GSXR250, reving it's guts out and dropping the clutch.

Yeah bummer about the lower leg, the bike and the knee, hope you come right soon. Now for the purpose of my post, was your wheelie:
a) A power wheelie (not likely)
b) A clutchy wheelie
c) A cresting wheelie. (when you reach the peak of a rise, and you've already got upward momentum, and the power keeps the front of the bike going up).
Just interested. Let us know, cause I can only do cresting wheelies, with the odd very small clutch wheelie.

nothing but clutch - I think I was around 12k then when I redlined and hit the limiter it started coming down, then my backend went.. sad but shit happens.
I think my gearbox has suffered abit though as its abit resentfull to slip into 1st from nuetral, although I was just testing it this morning checking full damage, so it was probably just due to no oil floating around.
all I can say is dont underestimate tourers :P

Shit mate... glad you didn't come off to bad.
Props for managing to get the zzr's wheel off the ground. I got a nice one (about 50cm off the ground) and managed to hold it for 15-30 metres. Pretty fun but you gotta make sure you know where all the bumps in the road are.... Tried one once and had the back "bounce" made the laning quite interesting aye
(on another note maybe next time you can use ANT as wheelie balast hahahaha make them a bit easier aye :Pokey: )
