Im going to my first ever track day at pukekohe on the 6th of october, how ever my bike isnt ready. It needs to be painted.
So since my bin a while ago I have been diligently fixing it up - already missed a trackday at taupo due to bent forks. So far the bike is complete apart from the paint job - which ive been working very hard repairing the fairings and sanding and priming.
And more sanding and priming. A lot of sanding and priming.
i've sent the tank off to reflections to get painted -as its the only *critical* part i need to physically run the bike the downside is its taken all my $$.
So basicly I have a front faring, a screen. 2 sides, and 3 tail fairings needed to be painted. Which was no biggie as Im doing it myself.
Yesterday My air compressor gave up the ghost. Being a poo tiny one im going to start saving to get a real air compressor but there is no way I can save up the $$ before the trackday.
Does anyone have an aircompressor I can borrow untill the 6th of october - OR can anyone help me paint the bike.
Its in the stages of sanding primer - sanding each coat with 220grit - I was going to put up to four more coats sanded down with 400-600 grit before a paint coat went on.
I have 500mls clear coat and 500mls gloss black paint.
I don't want to put the fairings on in primer stage because the bog N primer will soak up moisture/water like I dont know what- and i'll probably be riding to the track. Also being a 250 i need all the help I can get on that oval track of pukekohe!
Thanks heaps. a small amount of $$ and beer are on offer for your services.
